Rumours and Stuff

They’ve gone back to wearing their Champion hoodies and balaclavas this week and put the NRL stuff away . They’d be extra upset after having to do a servo drive off in the WRX to get to Parramatta thinking it was in the bag . Even the favourite wife no doubt copped a gob full last night.
She swallowed?

The dark arts are an obvious "extreme negative" whether you want to use the word illegal or immoral or not is up to the individual.
We can actually point to data now that indicates that over the last 15 years or so wrestling cost the game a small fortune in terms of crowds $ and TV ratings thus $ and I would make the argument that alone is basically theft. Yes, these coaching tactics have held the game back in such a way that it amounts to theft.

Normally yes. But in this instance, he is a Boonhead...and that is a good thing indeed.
I like the way Kenty calls a spade a shovel and has highlighted that it's Bellamy Ball that has destroyed the game and caused the NRL to counteract Bellamy Ball through constant adjustments and changes to the rules, the latest being the expansion of the 6 again which has clearly had the intended effect viz, Scum equal 2nd last on the ladder.

As per Kenty why don't the refs just f**ken enforce the rules? For repeated offenses use the bin. They have that at their disposal but Bellamy knows the refs don't like to give lopsided penalty counts so his plan A can be kept - destruction of the play the ball.

With the expanded 6 again he's struggling to come up with Plan B.

As per Stuart himself the ref went back to pre-expanded 6 again in terms of ruck lenience and low and behold the Scum were competitive again on the weekend.

It's the inability of the NRL to enforce the rules that causes disgruntlement in the fans, compounded by the "feeling", whether right or wrong, that the refs give some teams benefits and leniency that they don't allow other clubs. Eg, as per my assertion that if Harry Grant were 9 for Eels he'd be penalised out of the game.

Remember when Bill Harrigan sin-binned something like 4 Eels in a row because either Cayless or Hindmarsh declared they would keep doing the same ruck infringement? I think we were down to 10 men at one stage.

It demonstrated that where there's a will there's a way, Harrigan felt he could punish us but he never did the same to Scum proving there were limits to his bravery.

When I think of Harrigan and his so called bravery as a ref, whenever he reffed the Scum I'm reminded of that Monty Python ode to "Brave Sir Robin".

If you told me before the season started that after 7 rounds we'd be 1 win behind the broncos and roosters and ahead of Storm - i'd have been over the moon.

Guess we're not going too badly.

If we play with that intensity and focus this weekend, we'll beat Manly who were brilliant in Foran's first game, but i think the last 2 weeks were lucky to have played a Cowboys side would have given us a run for our money against the titans as worst effort from a team all year, and the dragons. I don't think their formline is accurate. Also haven't won a game at Brookie all year.

Yeah if you told me we were on 3 wins and just outside the 8 after the last few years yeah I would be OK..

Then I would look at our results and the for and against and want to go play in traffic...

To be honest I don't think anyone is consistent due to the way the game is controlled by the officials..

Yesterday's game is how I want to watch all games 3 six agains..

Our draw with getting Tigers & Titans at home in first 6 weeks.

A pass mark would have been 4 wins from 7.

Injuries played a part no doubt.

If only we caught the short kick off in the Tigers game we win that game we somehow would be 4/7 with a horrific F/A.

You have to be absoloutly kidding suggesting we're not going too badly.

That will do me!

It was a tongue in cheek mixed with a dose of positivity - because if you cant try and be positive after probably our best performance, or at least top 3, in the last 3 years, then when can you be positive?

We're clearly not had a good season thus far - but thanks to a very even and unpredictable comp, we're far from out of contending for finals

I tell you what. For the first time in a long time I can openly say i think our footy product in the NRL has gone backwards. Hugely down on last season with the new rules. I am probably what you would call a league "purist", and they are probably not trying to appeal to me but I thought most rounds last year were insane.

That SOO game where is was almost no tries until Moses broke out was one of the most thrilling games I have ever witnesses. Those long periods of getting at each other is far more rewarding. The no penalty for short drop outs, no reward for 6 agains etc. To me, its blindingly obvious the game is going in the wrong direction.

I am totally against the new rules, the 6 man bench and the 2 new clubs arriving to the game following the Dolphins franchise. I think we could have collapsed a club before just stretching the talent pool.

But I think the quality of games is really average with the speed and its clunky now. If people want to see 48-32 every weakens then fine, but I think we've gone backwards.

if only we were smart enough to challenge the high shot call from the referee by Sam that gave them the 2 points to send to Golden Point. I think the penalty gets overturned by the video ref - it wasn't high
We wouldn’t have won it because TDS does hit him high. It was one of those moments of a game of incompetent refereeing. Moses accused of diving because the ref misses him getting smashed, then immediately penalises Sam for a non existent high tackle.

We still should’ve challenged it but considering the circumstances

I agree there’s already too many teams before Perth/PNG and the rule changes speeding up the game fly in the face of adding more teams, that’ll mean lower quality players trying to keep up with this increased speed.
