Johnny and Martin Lang??
Martin Lang was brilliant for Panthers in his three years out here. He had one skill and he did it every hit up - run straight and hard.

Thinking of that 2003 Panthers premiership team it's amazing how they constantly produce giant locks. Just as they've got Isaah Yeo now they had Trent Waterhouse then.

Trent Waterhouse - 194cm 110kg
Isaah Yeo - 195cm 106kg

Two generational talents.

Ricky Stuart / Jed Stuart
Brad Arthur / Jake & Matt Arthur
Shane Flanagan / Kyle Flanagan
Kevvie Walters / Billy Walters
Bob Fulton / Scott & Brett Fulton
Chris Anderson / Ben Anderson

Have i missed anyone in the past 30 years

I think the Flanagans deserve the Gold medal out of that lot.

Shane took it another level with his public commentary gaslighting his fans as complete mugs.
Umm Ivan and Nathan Chinry?

Wasn't there a coach who froze out his most damaging forward for having an opinion on a family selection?

Makes sense....he was never a priority of Ryles, the positions he plays are covered (halves / FB) and he isn't a winger/centre.
I guess you have to make a call about these players. Blamblett vs Twiddle and who has the most upside.

Were we given the opportunity to counter ? I wonder what they have thrown at him to go to Perth ?

A lot of fans are going to blow up about this who have watched Apa play for a grand total of 20 minutes.

I've watched a fair bit of him since his Ball days and he's a handy footballer and a great kid but in my opinion we have more talented young players coming through in Fullback and 6 which are his positions.

I'm glad we got to see him debut for our club and he had a great moment. Good luck to him at the Bears he will be handy for them but if he is in their starting 19 players R1 next year then they are in some serious Barney Rubble.

maybe have a look at who's already there?

1: Riley, Bamblett, Joash and Iongi

6/7: Moses, Fletcher, Riati, Talataina and Volk
We've lost Ethan Sanders, Blaize Talagi and now Apa Twidle.

Feeder club to the comp.

What do we keep? Dross.

What makes you think we'll keep Fletcher, Riati or Talataina? Past and present behaviour predicts we'll feed them out to the comp in the future as well.

People need to consider Volkman is 23 and spent 2-3yrs injured. If fixes defense he can really play.
Lorenzo in cup last week was electric. He created space literally everytime he touched the ball. His kicking game along with Volkman is also very good.

What makes you think we'll keep anyone you listed other than Moses?

Everything indicates they'll all go as well because that's what we do.

How the f**k does that make sense?

Api is a FB/Half option. We have that covered:

- Iongi is signed long term for FB
- Lorenzo is signed until 2028 and all indications is our long term 5/8

- Back up FB/half options in front of Ap, Papa and Volkman. Assuming we are looking at re-signing

- Junior FB/half options with potential to be genuine back up options next 12 months, Fletcher and Bamblett

- Then next in line is Davis / Risati (playing SG ball at 18), potential TBD

Of course it wouId be good to keep Api, but based on what Russell got offered by the bears, it was probably to much for us to matching, considering he is only a back up, which we already have covered.

You can say that, but it doesnt make the fact that Tago and Renisni are in the top 30, but they couldn't offer Apa a top 30 contract any better.

Wow, thank you for that well considered and explained reply.

I've had 4 coffees and tonguing for a drink. Think I'll go for a walk to compose myself.

Different positions mate.

I don't disagree, neither of those two should be top 30 and probably wouldn't be at any other club but you are comparing apples with oranges.
