The Titans have re-signed Elgey. That makes three halves on the books for next year. Is Corey Norman still an option for them?
No. Why are we worried about Titans particularly?

Newcastle look like they need somebody... anybody... and could come asking for Norman. I reckon he'll stay if we offer him something decent and quickly.

Hodkinson and Mullen would be on too much to justify paying Norman's asking price.

Previously the Titans only had Taylor and Roberts contracted for next year.

I'm sure we would have made him a decent offer weeks or even months ago. It means nothing if he knows he can get more elsewhere, and his manager would have known there were bigger offers on their way.

I haven't heard it but we're always linked to him. He's a better all-round player than Paulo. Not as powerful, obviously, and already at his peak.

How would their prices compare? In two years Paulo will probably have improved whereas Tamou will still be at his peak.

Morgan has played 80 first grade games and never showed much other then being a solid back up player.

Gutherson is a 7 game rookie coming off an ACL, name me a game when Super Morgs has never gone close to topping the run metres in a game??? He's made a few mistakes but he's not afraid to get involved and do some tough stuff. Morgs never got his jersey dirty.

I reckon morgs was once decent. He probably should have made the city side one year when there were a few injuries but they picked an aging reddy instead.

Hindy111 do you even watch football? There is a reason why Gutherson is playing 1st grade ahead of Morgan. They may be evenly matched at the mo, but CLINT has higher ceiling and Morgs is at his peak already.

And Hiku the standout in centre swap, clearly you are wearing your blacked out Panther glasses

He's more then decent. Would really like to see how he'd go in the Melbourne system.

While i am happy to have Gutherson in front of Morgan as Morgan doesn't really offer anything, Guthersons run metre stats are sonewhat padded by the fact that teams are purposely kicking away from Semi, therefore Clint gets all the kick returns

There's no way in the world Morgan would have taken those bombs which gutherson did the other night when he got forced back in goal. I can't believe people are bagging him for that.

If Morgan has pace then he certainly doesn't know how to use it. He got put in several holes last year and f**ked most of them up when average outside backs would have scored.

gutherson is going fine imo. If he was to be replaced Morgan should be about number 6 to do so.

Gutherson had 3 kick returns for 29m the other night.
Round 1 he was 6 kick returns for 51m.

(9 returns for 80m = almost 9m per return)
Those are pretty good numbers - they might start kicking it to Semi if he keeps those figures up?

For reference, Corey Oates is 6 for 54m on the season = 9m per - and that includes a bust (I haven't checked every team, just tagging Oates for his good form to start the year)

Exactly. Its really not that hard to understand. I give Morgan full credit for doing his best, however his best is simply not up to NRL standard.

Lets see how Gutherson is playing after 15 NRL games let alone 80plus. He is simply a much more talented player who is still new to NRL and is coming off a terrible injury last season.

Jennings - 65mtrs + 81mtrs 0 tries-0 lb
Hiku - 109 mtrs + 76 mtrs - 2 tries - 1 lb
lafai - 82 mtrs + 46mtrs - 0 tries - 0 lb

Yes gutherson does have a higher ceiling.
Currently i reckon Morgan would offer more till Gutherson blows a few cobwebs out from a long lay off. In wenty he can regain some confidence.
I am making the comment that if Morgan played the way Gutherson did everyone on here would be calling for his head. Not that Gutherson was terrible- But either was Morgan.
Manly did not seem concerned about letting Gutherson go. Acl injuries can be hard to recover from. He may become a star. It is no certainty.

If Morgan was that bad clubs like Titans and storm wouldn't be interested.

Lol standout. You also conveniently left out his amount of missed tackles & all of Hoppa. It's way too early to give him Dally M centre of the year

I'm not Bigfella, I don't think Morgan won't get a contract at another, although maybe I do. I don't think Morgan would offer more but if all Gutherson's worst was some poor reads on kicks then, Morgs could definitely offer less

Keep in mind that Gutherson is also a centre/fullback playing on the wing, he's only going to improve as he learns the position and regains his confidence.
