well that’s your problem; you’ve lost objectivity. Would have thought there’s other factors why “your Dragons” were losing football games.

I can think of one...

You are probably correct. Have always been one red one white eyed. Halves are supposed to get the engine room going. They are supposed to give the backline plenty of ball. What other factors?

Offensive ? ? ?
Yeh yeh. Now I see your point. Disruption yes.. but one silver lining. It has given some youngsters a crack.
I always rated Vaughan.. appears some on here did not. We have missed the quality of JBD and Lomax the most. Even when Jack was back he was bench warming. Now he returns at lock.. hopefully to stay. Lomax is a class act but has missed a lot of footy this year. Rather bewildered at Hook putting Bird at the back. Gotta have faith in the next gen now as it looks as tho our finals hopes are toast.

No prob.

I was critical of Hunt early on his tenure, but have to say he stepped up for us this year. I agree we lack creativity and really dont have a game breaker.

Anyway, lets see what pans out next year and as you say, our youngsters given a shot. We are way off competing at the top level as it stands.

He was the star of the show in our first five games.. but dropped off after his injury break and our season went from great to passable very quickly. Our dud recruiters wasted millions from the Dragons coffers putting him on a six year contract. His retention has also meant we've missed out on some genuine half talent. Pity we weren't able to get back Widdop once he realised he had made a big mistake by returning to England after being here since he was sixteen (stand corrected). I said at the time he will regret his move as his family were happy living here. All his kids were born here too.

Sad innit. All the good sides have creative halves. A game breaker? Jayden Sullivan looks good on his feet and elusive but what is his best position. I dont see a lot of creativity in his DNA.

Steady on mate. Adam O’Brien served under Bellamy and Robinson. The jury is still out on him. Clearly shown, no Ponga no Newcastle.
Only proves there are no certainties, like buying a racehorse with great pedigree that won’t jump out of the gate.

All you can do is look for a great resume & references then hope for the best. I only stated that Ryles is building an impressive resume & will be available in 2023. Hook might turn it all around next year so it won’t be an issue but otherwise Ryles could be in the mix.

Mate Ryles was a bonehead when he played for us, ZERO discipline. I’d safely pass on him as an untested head coach in his rookie role. No thank you

For those who want to waste more time on LU, here is a thread prepared earlier:

Linked to the page where he was sacked and there's 120+ more pages of goodness after that. FWIW, I don't think he's a good coach at all, his main strengths seem to be promoting youth and fitness. Doesn't seem to have a gameplan to unlock the great defensive systems.
