We had a 360 degree turnaround from last season. Mary is either the greatest coach in the world or was their other sources involved. I think the second is more likely then the first

I thought the presser was one of Mary's better efforts too...in as much as what he was saying made sense...and dare I say it...interesting ...

I was certainly happy to hear that he has delegated things like strength, conditioning and rehab to Pickworth and his team and his focus is purely coaching.

Also interested to hear they brought a lot of AFL guys onto that fitness support staff. Little wonder the boys were like the Energiser Bunny yesterday.

Even the poor showing in the Charity Shield was adequately explained. The focus was always Round 1, they'd had a heavy pre-season and were a bit overdone. The 2 week freshen up was what they needed.

What's the world come to? We thrash the equal favourite with a dominant display AND Mary makes sense????

So far Mary 1, Hasler 0 in coaching for 2017. Dogs were awful and played like Saints last year. Dogs played a better side but had plenty of ball to win and were lucky only to be down 12-0 after 10 mins. Should have easily been down 18 or 24 - 0.

25 more rounds to go with double points up for grabs when they play head to head.

No need to worry or be conflicted. No other clubs are looking to sign McGregor so no need on making any knee-jerk decisions based on one good game. If the team keeps winning, he has a chance to be re-signed and if it reverts to last years form, he won't be re-signed.

Maybe our turn around had nothing to do with anything other than the physio previously mention in this place, has now had a chance to give every player a bit of a rub and shared with them the good news about Des, which was previously shared with us.

Mary has also shown good patches for a "set of weeks" in prior seasons but I say it's a long season and that is why it is the men who win grand finals.

I was encouraged by last week and it was so different to anything I have seen in prior seasons of recent past so I hope we see that continue - even if losing to a strong team on their day if we play like that I will be proud.

I agree Sheridan Stand.

The club had to put in changes to allow the team to be in a competitive position this year. If a head coach needs this type of assistance, I don't think you will be the head coach for to long.

In McGregor's defence (not that I wish to defend him) it's been some drop ball and silly errors (namely Packer and Dugan) that have led to most of the eels tries. Also some awful defence.
