McNoidea was asked on 360 about why he thinks 2018 is not going to end up like 16/17, his replied was "well firstly, both those years had completely different rosters"
Pity he couldn't recognise we have the same coach as we did 16/1718
So mcidiot blaming the rosters instead of saying the truth being he can't Coach , how I wish for Wayne's second coming so he can point mcidoit towards the exit door again just like he did the first time he came to coach

Roy Masters writes that St G has $12 M in ca
The St George side of the JV is in a sound position and has reserves and a solid Balance Sheet to ensure that this side of the business is on a long term sound footing and will compete for years to come.
The players will soon learn that if they do not perform they are gone.

Was there a thread about McGregor being sacked this week & Millward taking over for the rest of 2018? It seemed a bizarre rumour, even for a team struggling with form & confidence. I can't blame people for posting what they hear, but that just seemed to be a gee up.

ack Macgregor adnd hire Wayndye.

Bring in Mattie Cooper and Brad Mackay.

Let's find a runner like Alfie who coaches on the field and organises the guys (unofficially of course)

The guys on Fox are still behind Macgregor ???????

Well here we are again folks. Another season just like the others before it - this utterly hopeless coach has led the team on his usual funeral march from the overachieving heights of April to the standard pitiful rubbish of August However, this time, we are in the worst possible position. With recruitment no longer part of McGregor's remit, he has been handed a much more talented group of players and the overachieving April stretched a few months longer, and long enough to scrape into the top 8.

This is disastrous. It is already being used by Doust and co as evidence of success, and you know McGregor will be pumping his own tyres with this "achievement" forever and a day.

So, my question is, what is the REALISTIC best outcome in the remaining games of 2018, for the future success of the club from here?

In my opinion, two straight losses is our only hope. Anything else will see McGregor in the job again next year.

Yeah 71

Hopefully if we don't (lol) win the GF I'd like to see Wayne win, just to stick it up White. What an exit that would be ( although winning 7 on the trot is quite an ask)!
Then 2 Dragons titles to wrap up a stellar career
We live in hope.
But back to this thread that's nearing its climax I suspect.
McFMD's media mates never broach the elephant in the room when assessing the Dragons' woes - which can be summed up basically in one word, a word that epitomises his failure -
LATKENS

Through his relentless emotional commitment to these imposters he has:
- sacrificed his selection credibility with the team & fans
- destroyed our backline attack potential since May as the points started drying up. (The ball dies in the centres, crippling our attack - no points no confidence - really simple guys?
- impaired junior progression other teams have masterfully exploited.
- brought down the full wrath of the Forum upon himself
- left us with few tested options in the face of injury at the pointy end of the season (a sackable oversight in itself)
- exposed himself as a moron to all and sundry in his spurious defence of lost form, lost confidence & lost dressing room.
- delivered an A grade pack with a D grade backline, ignoring FORM every step of the way.

So, when it's just about too late, his media mates are throwing up the names that should've been genuinely ( not the Clayton's rotation 17-22) in the mix for depth at the start of the season:

Lomax, Field, Hertbert & probably Garrick who should've been looked after better.

Sadly the last 2 now most likely lost - but never mind, Mary'll have his journeymen as ready replacements.

Hard to distill the core and symbols of the issue, but there you go:

L A T K E N S

Last year it was (U guessed it):

LOVECHILD

BTW
The self-fulfilling prophecy states that basically if u set the bar low, you reach low.
And the 8 was always the target for the CEO, Board, Coach, Players & (I'm sorry to say) Fans - all so cosy & safe?
We had the roster to win the GF - SOO pack FFS but the forwards had to carry the backs.

Just wrong selections & wrong coach.

Proberbly right.
I have no confidence we beat Newcastle.
Then in the finals we play one of Warriors in New Zealand, Brisbane in Brisbane, or the Panthers at ANZ.
We may have a chance against the Panthers, depending on what team turns up.

We play two finals game and it’s Groundhog Day next year.

The guys on Fox seem to enjoy our misery, it comes through in the commentary and the opinion shows. Perhaps Rupert was bitten by a dragon as a child?

Just announced on 2KB.

Paul McGregor has resigned as Coach of NRL St George Illawarra club.

It is believed a new long term coach has been signed rather than an interim coach, to be annouced this afternoon.
