Get Mary to report to David Waite or Brian Smith as General Manager and then sack all the coaches for NRL at season end. At least Waite and Smith made Grand Finals unlike Mc Wrecker!
Mary has said he wants a good finish to the season and the effort was there last 2 weeks despite losses.
I think everything might be more palatable if he just didn’t say anything and hid under a table until his contract expires near 2022.
I almost feel sorry for him at moments like this. He just isn't very good, and is not being allowed to fail/leave/reflect. He's been in charge of the organisation for six years. He has failed consistently, no matter what supports he has been given, or what responsibilities have been removed. Now he has to trot out these pathetic excuses every week. On some level the constant ineptitude and failure must be crushing.
If the board had done its job anytime during his tenure and let him go - maybe after a couple of years failure - he would have had the opportunity to walk away and maybe reinvent himself as an assistant or go to England. It's happened to plenty who were/are much better coaches than Mary.
All further dithering by the board is just doing more damage to Mary, the club and supporters. Getting rid of him is the kindest thing they could do now.
I meant his legacy as a player with the club, certainly not from his coaching! His legacy?
You mean like turning Kogarah and WIN from fortresses to just another venue where we lose at?
He can take that with him. I want my club back.
Mary is undoubtedly working back late tonight. It won’t help. You can’t work through slumps like this. You need meaningful high level change.
The problem with beating the titans at the moment, is that it represents a fairly hollow victory. They are the orphans of the game at the moment. Nothing to cheer about beating them.
Paul’s obsession with continuing on in the role in the hope that he can turn things around is a product of delusional and disordered thinking. It’s not established by any facts.
As the weeks go by, the players too seem to be deeply troubled by the enormous pressure they are under. You can tell that they are not enjoying their footy anymore and it’s become an arduous chore. Some of them may be damaged for a long time to come.
You are on your knees and ready to slump into the floor.
Even freaks like us tigers are in the hunt for the finals. We’ve got nothing really.
I feel for you.
I had a sharks fan mate drop by my office today and felt sorry for me as a saints supporter. He said how does the club keep your coach for so long and all I hear from him in the media is excuses for losing. All I said was the the club is run by old boy dinosaurs and don’t run it like a professional business. This post pretty much sums things up......opposition supporters feeling sorry for us......can we go any lower!
All we need is a Sharks fan to start feeling sorry for us and we will all know what rock bottom feels like.

He lives in Oatley and I moved to the Shire from Blakehurst 20+ years ago
There are no words left to describe our management, our coach and our very feeble players.
At what point is enough enough for a mere fan? Are we supposed to honestly ride this storm out for aeons? My inclinations have been pretty spot on of late, and it is abundantly clear to me next year holds even less hope. And even if that is wrong, a premiership is so far out of the question in the foreseeable future.
I realise there's no alternative to supporting St George, as in another club, but I can only see this path leading to becoming a disillusioned league hater and losing this thing that has brought so much joy and pain over the years. While that's hard to imagine now, it is truer by the day. The players, coach and management are stuck in some sick symbiotic relationship in which they say one thing and then perform like they've never met, whilst practising their best surprised face.
I suppose I will have to find some other outlet, somewhere else to put my energy. I don't know how others intend to manage this affliction??? I ride the lows which means the highs are sweeter but this is a different beast. We currently risk changing the identity of this club forever, people.
When I was young my old man who had red eye and right eye told me he expected me to do the following in my lifeAnd Barrett is sniffing around for another coach, maybe he hatched on the idea that the club will want another ex player who knows the culture bla bla bla.
yes sadly weve gone from a club who DID sack a dud coach to one that doesnt even care at all....about winning, about competing, about results, about our reputation, about US as fans!! or about or team, our club, our fun, our passion , our loyalty etc etc...aswell as the poor players busting their a(**^ who are CLEARLY roads better than idiots like Aitken, Lafai, Latts, etc etc....the board constantly just sh(*^^ in our faces just having this coach still run the place No company anywhere who had ANY pride at all in their brand, lable, team , organisation etc would still have the loser! mob even here at all...the least they can do as soon as the seasons done the very next day, is sack the coach and get one that CAN coach not another failure like Barrett a real coach! anyone now to rebuild I dont care...even the first 6 weeks of next season theres a RISK that well win a few and he WONT be sacked, thats why they must sack him at the immediate seasons end....There are no words left to describe our management, our coach and our very feeble players.
