Like most of us I am absolutely sickened. I could express it through a novel style post but I think it's come to a time where there isn't much to say that hasn't been said already.
I can, however, only honestly say that today from start to finish I was hoping for the result we got. That was the first time I have 100% not wanted us to score or win. I was satisfied each time the Dogs scored albeit with a slight unease. I have zero passion for the current crop of players and coaching staff, and have a vehement disgust for the management. I really never thought it would come to this. No one individual needs to be singled out, they simply don't do the jersey credit as a team. Money can come in do a lot to taint the game but that shouldn't cheapen the history of the red and white (who only play in red these days...).
We all go to work. We get paid for performing. Near enough is not really good enough for us. The players are on huge coin, let's not forget it. At the Dragons, from the top down, there are excuses and a ingrained culture where performing is optional. I believe to the point where many of our players don't know or remember how to perform. The coach has got us there.
"We were x amount of wins away from the grand final" says the coach haha! I am glad there really are no excuses and all Mary can do is mention the past, - which, funnily enough by St George standards is pathetic in any case. The most dismal statistics to be associated with any form of Dragons club, left, right and centre. He doesn't understand St George. He loves his players, they are his mates. No doubt about it. He gives jack all about this club. He has done enough damage. If he's not gone tomorrow I will go on a hiatus.
"I'm not a quitter" translates simply to "I won't go without my money".
And that my friends is what our club has become - a business, and a really bad one.
