RAPER HONOURS A WINNER
Our thoughts are with the family of John Raper, whose mother, Irene, has just passed away. The Dragons legend said his career would not have reached its heights without his mother's unconditional love and support. ''She was a wonder woman,'' Raper said. ''She raised nine boys, was a grandmother to 23 and a great grandmother to 25 - and I can tell you not one of us was neglected. She was just such a beautiful lady and I'm so sorry to see her go.'' Irene died just shy of her 95th birthday. ''She was partly responsible for me being the great footballer I was, for bringing me up the right way,'' he said.
