The NRL's annual review into its clubs' salary caps has turned up breaches by five clubs, each of which will be fined accordingly.
The clubs were advised of the breaches last week and the league's board was informed at its meeting today.
Parramatta will cop the largest of the fines at $25,000, while the Dragons ($22,500), Brisbane ($17,045), Canberra ($1,996) and the Roosters ($7,246) were also found to be in breach of the cap.
The Eels' breach actually related to 2008, a factor which chief executive David Gallop found "encouraging".
"Given the major investigation at Melbourne this year it has taken a little longer than normal to complete the annual reviews at all clubs," he said in a statement.
"It is encouraging that the largest of the fines for an undisclosed guarantee at Parramatta actually relates to the 2008 season and that for the most part in 2009 we are dealing with technical issues about the way payments should have been classified rather than deceptive conduct.
"The salary cap team is to be commended in terms of both these audits and the work undertaken in relation to the breaches found at the Melbourne Storm.
"Already they are focusing on the mid-year audits for the 2010 season."

Nothing major.

This is nothing. This is a result of the forensic auditors that Ozzy called in. There was a payment to finch outstanding when he left the club. The $25,000 was the exact amount payed out to finch. The club volunteered the results to the NRL, and this is the result of our club operating in a honest and transparent envronment now. However we seem to be the flavour of the week with the media, so they will beat this up to no end. Much like they have already gone overboard with Ozzy's so called scandal.
