They're having a field day on the ABC grandstand post on facebook. There's a Bulldogs supporter called David warding off all the dopey Melbourne supporters who think we should also have our competition points taken away. Ha Ha

they will grab at any straw won't they? never mind that our breach was $25,000 while theirs was over a million and we declared ours while they deliberately hid it for 5 years but oh no its all the same thing give us the same punishment

This is nothing. This is a result of the forensic auditors that Ozzy called in. There was a payment to finch outstanding when he left the club. The $25,000 was the exact amount payed out to finch. The club volunteered the results to the NRL, and this is the result of our club operating in a honest and transparent envronment now. However we seem to be the flavour of the week with the media, so they will beat this up to no end. Much like they have already gone overboard with Ozzy's so called scandal.
So the fine equals the breach?

weird that they've written it was for 2008 then .... was Finch not paid money he was owed in 2008? or is what Gallop is quoted as saying wrong?

The Eels' breach actually related to 2008, a factor which chief executive David Gallop found "encouraging".
...
"It is encouraging that the largest of the fines for an undisclosed guarantee at Parramatta actually relates to the 2008 season ... "

PESC Are you alluding, by this comment that the previous management did not operate in this manner?
