Raiders are hoping to secure him before he looks elsewhere. I have been been told by a VERY good friend of Toddy's that he has put a price tag on his services and we have knocked him back on that asking price. I don't know what he is asking but I've just been informed of that.

We might be playing hard ball as the club has Williams in their sights if toddy falls through.

Well I know Flanno was disappointed with CT's performance at Manly. Maybe looking for Sam to partner Todd. On another note, Flanno was impressed with Flash.

Not that Williams is a dud player or anything, he's dam good in fact, but as a potential replacment for Todd The God we have just as good options already IMNHO

Well, Robson and Morris are in their twilight years and TC may not hang around forever. Wise move by the club IMO.

Williams is a quality player and the Raiders have a few really good young halves coming through - they can't keep them all.

Fair enough. 1 game in I'm sure he is allowing for improvement of some sort.

I wonder if flanno has forgotten robbo's performance in our semi Vs raiders

I hinted at this in the NRL forum a couple of weeks back.

Williams is a freak. He needs a coach who will back him and basically give him the team to run.

Flanno seems like that kind of coach.

We'll see.

Sam was the best player on the park in the two finals he played, in a team that can't tackle.

Not bad for a 21 year old.

I rate Chad. I think there's an honest first grade halfback in there. Probably this season.

But I don't think he'll ever be elite. Probably at the Wallace level, if that.

And I think Williams will be elite. Will play 7 for NSW and go well. He's got everything that Chad does but a heap more pace and a more creative passing game.

Sentimentally, I want to see Townsend make the 7 jersey his, play Origin and captain the best of the freakin universe team.

But Williams is a better player.

As much as it kills me to say it, Chad won't get his chance here anytime Robbo is here. Reasons beyond common sense tells me the coaching staff rate robbo at halfback over chad and that's that. Certain people will say "I told you so" but lets be honest Robbo has played with our best squad when selected whilst Chad has had to pick up the pieces when he has been selected(TC's injury and origin)

On his day Chad can throw a ball as good as any half in the world. Sure he may not have showed it in many games but you just have to look at the team sheets to figure out why. As an organiser, Chad will be very handy for most NRL clubs.

Sam Williams sure is a talent. I don't know what it is with the kid but every time he runs out against us he just carves us up. A future combo of Penani and Williams sure would put us in good stride in the halves department for many years

In defence, only, gets the job done elsewhere, without fuss.

This suits our squad.

The truth is Chad needs his defence to improve, takes time for all young halves, they have to get used to the second rower running at them all game.

Due to Carney being out, he may get a chance.

Carney is not worth stupid dollars. We seem to have a reputation in recent years of not paying overs for players, so I'm pretty confident if we keep him it won't be for overs.

Good to see us looking at other options. That said I agree with Frenzy, we already have a pretty decent home made option waiting in the wings.
