Not all Pacific Islanders are Polynesians.

Samoans, Tongans and NZ Maoris are Polynesians

Fijians and Papua-New Guineans are Melanesians.

What a pity that Matt Parish doesn't know this. Otherwise the article would have been very good.

Who cares? The peoples of the Pacific for starters.

Polynesians look different from Melanesians for starters. Haven't you noticed?

Full-blooded Melanesians are black in skin colour, full blooded Polynesians are not.

Polynesians are believed to have migrated from Asia, which is why they have eyes somewhat closer to those of Asians than Caucasians.
