You could see by how quickly and lazily they got carried away with random cyborgs popping up just to suit the storyline week to week that it was only going to get worse. Plus making their main "protector" a young girl, and then hinting at John feeling an attraction towards "her" ... just complete garbage. I felt that one of the most important facets of the movies was the way John's protector was always a male role model, as he didn't have a father, and it was important to his development as a person.
On a complete different matter, in terms of continuity.. does anyone know HOW John Connor was born in the first place? Given that he sent Reece back in time to mostly protect Sarah Connor but as an added bonus father himself, how did he exist originally?
