I disagree that Sattler will not be a loss, especially over there where the young blokes could easily be over-rawed

He is the main talker in the team, who will lead us around and rally the troops with Senter off for half the game

Second top offloader in the comp, in the top ten defenders and just bring that winners feeling to the club

Guys what happened without mccracken in 2000 after melbourne???, he wasnt setting the world on fire, butwe lost our leader and fell in a heap, lets hope its only for a week or i can see the 2004 melbourne game as again being the start of a slide....

I'm glad someone else thinks this. Sattler has been inspirational for the Tigers. The number of times he has made try saving tackles, or has been the last line of defence, or has been the only forward back in position has been incredible. He makes tackles, runs the ball hard and is a safe player.

He also leads by example and has been a steadying influence on the younger players in the team. There are things you really can't measure - just compare the character of the side now when he is captain compared to all the sh*t that Senter used to pull.
An excellent buy for the Tigers, he is filling his role perfectly this year and will be missed this weekend.
I think Senters been captain since he returned from his broken arm.

Iam with you eddie-sattler has been the one-keeping a lid on things when the boys got excited-doing the talking, doing the leading-You only have to see him behind the line after a try has been scored--no raving and ranting-just getting the guys back up-I think he has been real good for the club-and will be missed this weekend--like one of the posts before--I would have gone for the gravy train-you got fight fire with fie

I also think Scotty has been a big plus to the team.He tackles hinself to a standstill and his steadying influence has been invaluable. However, anyone thinking that either Heighington or Fulton will let us down is kidding themselves!Don`t worry how big or fast these Warrior players are, these two lads have class with a capital C and toughness to match. They won`t get intimidated that`s for sure.
I have no doubt our forwards will hold their own this week as we finally have 5 physical big men ie. Skando,Payten,Boof,Gibbs and Heighington isn`t a small man either.I n saying that, the only worry I have is us getting outclassed in the halves.

just a thought--would not suprise me fulton into 5/8 and wilson back to lock--i think that could work pretty well

I think the team will definately miss both Satts and O'Neill (see my original post) but it will be good to see how the young guys perform. Iguess it's really an opportunity to see the depth of the club, and see how they go without all of the hard, calm, old heads around. There's still plenty of experience out there, but as some of you have said, it's the little things that will be missed and the calming/rallying influence not being there might be the telling factor.

Tigers to win, regardless!

Is it critisising someone to suggest that they are NOT the difference in the team from last year to this?

Satts is a great player - If we hadn't signed him though and still made our other signings I doubt we'd have lost a single game more than we have.

Hahahahahaha.......

This site is getting weird......nealry impossible to have an opinion without being a hater........Im sure in a utopian world we would all be allowed to have discuss the footy without it getting personal,or being accused of bashing/hating the player, especially when all everyone here wants is the best possible team for the club we love.

Leave your opinions at the door please.

Thats very easy to say.

The cowboys and bulldogs games spring to mind immediately. We never win up in Nq and Sattler was inspirational that night, against the dogs he was the man rallying the troops behind the posts, keeping them going

Ill say it again, mccracken might not have been the difference in terms of meters gained or whatever but we sure missed the presence he gave us and inspiration he was to our younger players when games got tight and players were under pressure.

Campion in NZ, never made a ounce of difference to the talent of the team. he was a stedying influence

Would you say campion didnt make a difference in NZ winning more games??????

I stand by what I said - I do not think that Satts has been the difference between last year and this (nor do I think he provided experience or a 'steadying influence' that was not previously provided by Buckets and Dazza)

This is not bagging him - I LIKE Sattler, I was happy when we signed him and I'm still happy that we did sign him. That doesn't mean I have to think he is the clubs saviour.

and for the record I've been pretty outspoken in the past about my view that the tigers downfall in 2000 was not related to crackers injury - he had already spent most of the season out injured BEFORE kearney tried to kill him and yet we were still sitting 2nd for much of the year.

Why the Hell not Gray? :? Dead Set, i'm a big believer in Fulton, but he's bound to get hammered by the Warriors pack.

And if Benji played so would he!!!!

I think Liam wouldn't be a bad option as he could slot into the Halves and move Wilson into lock when Fulton comes on.

All those players you have mentioned brook provide the club with experience on and off the field.

The addition of experienced players such as Sattler. Hodgson, Moodie and even Graham will only benefit the club not only on the field but more importantly off it. They will provide the club's younger players with knowledge that you cant get in any other way.

To say one man is responsible for the turn around in a club is ludicrous. We arent talking about a Johns or Fittler here.

Our team has turned in better performances because :
- we have better players than previous years
- we are playing as a team
- no off field problems
- we have players in the lower grades pushing for first grade spots making the current first graders perform.

One last thing. An Opinion is just that. Everyone has one. If you dont like reading other people's thoughts dont come on a forum. ie. See the X on the top right of your screen ? Left mouse-click on it !

As far as tomorrows game goes, realistically we should score 24 points+ against the lazy defence of the Warriors.Anything less will be a failure.

Well considering they are actually missing some of their top line forwards and also appear to be using Villa as a backrower I think if we can with stand the first 20-30min on slaught then we could very well pull away and score a few points

I think a loss would be a failure to be honest and I couldn't care less how many points we score as long as we bloody win!!!

A very important match for us tomorrow a real test of where we are. A loss and we could be in big trouble.
