SBW and the World Cup

^Benji has said he's available. And even if he isn't Foran and Johnson are a better balanced halves pairing.

SBW hasn't ruled it out.

And coaching the Kiwis is a lot different from coaching the Eels.

No benji
No SBW
Kearney as coach

NZ have no chance in the world cup

Lol, nice one:lol:

-No Benji...Well, his form has been mud and we have better options currently with Johnson and especially Foran, the latter an instant pick. TL has been good for Warriors and should be a pick for Hooker and fill in half if required.
-No SBW...woopdie effin do! Won it last time when the Showpony ditched us and we didn't have him. Last time I looked League is a team sport.
-Kearney as coach...He was coach last time. Bennett was assistant, now Cleary is, whos a not too shabby coach who knows these players well. And wouldn't be surprised if Bennett popped in to see the team he has much affection for either;-)

When "di*khead" features said when he took off from the Bulldogs, he said, "I've got nothing else to achieve in Rugby League."

First thing I thought, "well, you have never won in a Kiwi jumper." The best he'd acheived is a 16 all draw.

Forget him.

I'm all for SBW to play for the Kiwis in the WC, but if he doesn't want to play then just let it be at that

The Kiwis do well in these touraments because they form a brotherhood. How does someone who thinks only of themselves, be part of that?

He'll be with the Chiefs or mysteriously pull a hamstring.

Forget him.

More importantly than some 'brotherhood' the Kiwis do well in tournaments because they spend 6 weeks together training and playing. I'm surprised that SBW hasn't derailed the Roosters this season, or the Chiefs last season, or the All Blacks at the World Cup  Good try though. Ask any Kiwis player if they would want him part of their 'brotherhood' and I imagine the unanimous answer would not be "forget him."

The Kiwis are better than one player and have depth now whereas 15 years ago it was a different story and we can thank the Warriors and a huge amount of eligible Kiwis players in the NRL for this.

I wouldn't be surprised in 15 years time when NZ has a second team and PI's, NZers and PNG players are dominating the NRL, SoO will not hold the importance that it once did and Australia could be relegated to 2nd after NZ or 3rd if England steps up

SBW may be annoying, but do I want him in our World Cup team - hell yes! He could well be a major factor in whether we win or not.

Pretty sure SBW was an integral part of the 'brotherhood' at the Chiefs and All Blacks, and now at Roosters...

I find it laughable that peoples' distaste of SBW's public profile draws them to a conclusion that he would not be a major asset for the Kiwis world cup defence.

Actually I find it laughable that people are so righteous about judging SBW fullstop. I don't give a rat's about him unless he is on the field kicking arse for the ABs, Chiefs, or Kiwis.

We need Sonny. He's one of the players with that aura about him that's going to give the rest of the team confidence just with his presence.

Well if kiwi league fans don't get why aussies don't like SBW, well that's why league struggles here.

$BW is a self centred s**t who will play for the Kiwis if it suits him and he wants the possible win on the CV.

Team sport though- We won it last time without his help and if their attitude is right they have more than enough quality players to do it again

The form 2nd rower in the NRL

Can play 6 of the 13 Positions in the game (L SR, R SR, 5/8, Lock, L Ctr ans R Ctr)

Both Trent Robinson (Roosters) and Dave Rennie (Chiefs) are on record stating that he not only buys into a positive team culture but adds to it.

Graham Henry (Former AB coach) is very savvy and would not allow someone who is anything other than an elite team orientated performer anywhere near the black jersey.

Proven big game player. World cup winner. Has made the best team in any Rugby code (AB's).

Positive roll model and experienced player who can lead on and off the field.

If he choses to make himself available for the Kiwis (and i hope he does) and he is fit and ready will be massive for not only NZ but Rugby League in general.

Anyone who cant see this should f--k off back to under the rock they came from.

Gotta pull you up on one thing there, as far as best 'Rugby' teams in the world the AB's are a distant 4th behind Kangaroos, Maroons and Blues.

He can certainly lead off the field...in the run to airport as he runs off again. Proven WC winner...? Lol, clocked up big playing time there!
I grant you he's a good athelete, I grant you he's playing well atm...but the rest is smeared on a bit thick, like the commentators who orgasm when he passes the ball.
Is he playing...or not? Or will his boxing defence get in the way. Is he staying at the Roosters or not? That's your team player for you, that just loves doing the 'Winston Peters' and draaaaagggiinnnngg things out.
He's a good player, but as said, it's a team sport and he's not the be all end all. Ask the Doggies if he's a team player, and especially the Dogs coach of the time he accused of racism. Maybe he's grown up a bit since then, we'll see. Good player, but $BWs priority is $BW

If any Kiwi fan is getting excited about him playing, don't disappoint yourself. Whats in it for him or Khodar? Nothing. Whats in it for him if he is back at the chiefs? A stupid organisation willing to take him back, kids thinking this is OK cause he gets all the media attention, Khodar gets a big fat pay check for signing a new deal.

He won't play. Simple. Don't torture yourselves with expectation.

Meanwhile, back at the club, good honest, hard working loyal, committed blokes get zero attention, zero publicity from the press, and kids don't think about being THAT guy.

Whats wrong with professional sport? Pretty easy to tell isn't it. When coaching kids I try to teach them to be loyal, committed, do it for the team and each other. Somebody mentions Money Bill and I may as well be talkin to the wall.
