Steve price said in the papers over here in NZ that he came to the warriors because 1. The culture at the Bulldogs was changing it was no longer the family friendly club it used to be and 2. because they didnt want him playing rep footy anymore. SBW is a pretty passionate kiwi so I think if Manly dug deep enough and would not stand in the way of him playing for the kiwis then they have a chance of getting him. The Doggies always have a habit of holding back SBW and other kiwis from playing for the kiwis

Try to sign him? When he's a contracted Bulldog until 2012?

Perhaps gathering some facts first would be helpful. dikefalos is an idiot.

Dikefalos has an impeccable track record on this board. How about you have a clue about the quality of the poster before attacking him?

Do you rate Groom, is he any good?

Awesome attacker, sh*thouse defender.

Sad to see him go. He needs another season in reserves learning to defend imo.

thanks t-ba all that im saying is that manly is making a play for sonny for 2009 as he is not a happy chappy at the dogs at the moment. whether it comes off is another thing. hasler has an outstanding record of turning around injury prone players & getting a lot of footy out of them e.g. kennedy & monas. imagine what a fully fit sbw would do for manly.

I see nothing wrong with statement tbh.

It's not like Dikefalos has said SBW is a moral to join Manly, but rather that Manly is going to have a dig at getting his signature.

Dikefalos is nearly always correct too.

Can you blame Manly for trying?

SBW is the best player alive atm and probably will be in a few years too...So as far as stating the obvious is concerned well done. Im sure every club in the world will be puting moves on him.

Sonny had a great year with an injury at the end of the season the reason he didn't line up for the Kiwi's. He won't go anywhere for 3-4 more contracted years so it's a little early to talk about it. I reckon the Stewarts would want a mighty upgrade around then.

I'm sure Mr Crowe would like Sonny to line up with his fellow Kiwi test mates in Fa'alogo, Smith, Paea, Kidwell and Asotasi, and/or Mr Politis will pull his rubber cap rule out and punch some figures into his flexible plastic calculator and tell Mr Gallop "approve it David or we'll fight this salary cap nonsense in court". They'll just drop 3 PL players to make room for SBW's 450K a year deal.

It's a very general statement that Manly have plans under way... they all do.

SBW is overrated. Simple as that. A top player yes, but he isn't fit to tie Joey's shoelaces.

He was fit enought to knock him into next week though. :)

Jealousy.

Must be. He proved this season he is over the serious injuries and has learned how to train to preserve his career. I'd take him over any other backrower including Mason.

He showed a lot of character re-signing. My stupid CEO advised him to..

 He was never going to souths no matter how hard Holmes a court tried. Was just a cover up from Holmes quoting in the papers that he advised SBW:lol:
He was never going to leave Canterbury. I remembered his fekked up manager was playing the dogs management around then he had a deadline to sign.
It wasnt SBW fault, dont know what kind of information his manager was feeding him.
SBW personally went to the Canterbury Management and signed the papers himself.

SBW the franchise for Canterbury
