The Ring.

When that bloody thing started to come through the Tele.
i found that more creepy than it was scary. the bit just after that when the blokes trying to get away but she appears right in front of him scared me more than the bit where she comes out of the screen. that whole movie gave me the mega creeps even though it didnt make any sense.

Is the spider walk when she goes down the stairs backwards? That was freaky.

Also (dud movie) but in one of the haunted house movies that came out a few years back there was a scene when the "mad doctor" ghost was on camera and did these schizo moves that freaked me out....kinda like the ring chick.

Now that I think about it, the end scene at the end of the new Texas Chainsaw scared the shite out of me.

Those two deputies going in and Scarface just ambushing them.

I think the freakiest part was probably the fact that Leatherface is very real and is still out there...

Im not sure if you are sarcastic or not but Leatherface is NOT real and the character he is loosly and I say loosly based on died about 20 years ago.

Ed Gein, the man the inspiration came from did not kill his victims with a chainsaw and he is the same man that the character in 'physco' and 'silence of the lambs' is based on. As you can see they are all very different as none of them is actually like the real man.

To read more about it if you want check out this sight, it explains it all:

I usually avoid horror movies, but the shower scene in Psycho is probably the classic one. Also the last scene in Carrie, where the hand sticks up from the gravesite, made me jump.

the thing with psycho is the scene itself isn't really scary...but it sticks with you

to this day I have VERY short showers when I'm home alone

the last scene in Friday the 13th, the very first one, in the final scene where the girl is in the boat in the lake in the morning and she is the only one left alive after the massacre, then a policeman shows up and waves her to shore as she waves back, Jason, jumps out of the water and drags her under.

very scary.

I am in the middle of reading a book called " Journey into Darkness" sorry can't remember author, same guy who wrote 'Mindhunter' if that helps. Its written by an ex FBI agent who basically invented profiling as a way of catching sex criminals. He said that Buffalo Bill from "Silence of the Lambs" is an amalgamation of 3 real life serial killers. One guy who took their skins, one guy who kept them in a pit and one guy who lured them into his van by pretending to be crippled. Reading that book and knowing its all true is pretty scary.

As for scary movie moments - psycho rates up there. The first 20 minutes of 'Children of the Corn'. The Ring was good also.

No, I wasn't being Sarcastic.

I was under the impression that Leatherface was a real character and not fictional, and that he was still out there roaming around (as stupid as that sounds).

Thanks for the link too.

No worries I wasnt sure either at first because it is portrayed as a true story with its 'based on true events' or whatever on the cover. However it turns out to be extremely loosly based on true events!

How freaky would it be if he actually was roaming around!
