i tend to agree .... if it works for some people, regardless of why, then that's great for them

i wouldn't want people to get ripped off - but maybe it works for some .... i tend to believe what might work for some, won't work for others, even with traditional medical treatments

i went and did an alternative treatment for allergies (hay fever) several years ago - i don't always get allergies each spring but the times i do it is really bad .... the treatment was something that i kinda went in considering it hocus pocus - it involved holding viles of liquid and accupressure .... a friend had done it a fair bit and i thought why not, $100 one off .... the week after i did it i felt bad, but then it stopped and i haven't had a problem since ...... did it work? was it just a coincidence? i don't know? maybe it did work

Yet we buy our food from corporate bullies, we wear clothes and use electronic equipment made in sweat shops or under standards that wouldn't get close to passing in Australia, our game makes money off gambling. The list could go on.

If they are a company that can legally trade in Australia why knock the club for taking their money.

Some people clearly missed what I said above so I will repeat it - If people want to give it try good luck to them and if people have tried it and have had positive results then I'm happy for them too.
The facts are that this company has been required to retract misleading advertising material on several occasions and IMO that does not make them a reputable company. If the product is so good, why then do they need to resort to deceiving potential buyers?

" but I want people to be informed of the facts and the facts are that there is next to no clinical evidence that these products do anything at all.

This is what you wrote buddy, if you want to have a dig at the club for signing a business, and if you are so concerned about people being duped by Scenar Health, why not have a dig at the betting agencies getting involved, why not have a go at the poker machines, why not have a dig at anything else.

I agree with you on this one.

Who cares if they make misleading statements and scam people. At least we get a piece of the action and that's all that counts.

Irrespective of what some are saying or claiming I prefer to listen to the experts in the field and a panel of experts decided that their advertising was unlawful, deceptive and worthy of a retraction. If anyone can come up with evidence to prove that wasn't the case then why waste your time telling me when you may be better off telling them? You never know...... they may even be happy to pay you to provide the necessary proof that they themselves couldn't come up with to convince the experts to not take the action against them that they did.

Hey Bongo

how come you have not posted on the 1 eyed eel website, here is the thread.

http://www.see-guidelines.com/forum...-scenar-health?id=500401:Topic:1118024&page=1

Is it because the owner of the company posted on it?

Are you only posting to look good before the elections or something?

this is a small snippet of what the owner said.

" I would like to introduce ourselves. Scenar Health has been involved with the Eels via Nathan Cayless since 2009, when we were instrumental in helping him the week before the Grand Final with a torn hamstring. Since then we have retained ties with both Nathan and Ben Smith.

It was in fact Nathan who approached us to help. Of course we could not say no!"

so they have been involved since 2009 and now they are a financial partner, WOW this cant be all that bad after all ...

Put simply I'm not bothering to post there anymore. As for Nathan Cayless approaching them- isn't that his job to source sponsorships?

In any case I saw what he (the CEO) said and here are a few other snippets of what his company has also said in the past:

"An advertisement for the Scenar device, which we published on this website, should not have been published."

"In the advertisement we made a large number of misleading, unverified, and unlawful claims."

"A complaint about the advertisement was recently upheld by the Complaints Resolution Panel. We provided no evidence to support the claims we made,..."

It's pretty simple and straight forward as far as I'm concerned so I will leave it at that.

who are the experts? a bunch of people threatened by some other competition?

Exactly. No different to any other company with a vested interest.
It is normally only the big companies that have unlimited $ to hold these "studies".

:lol: I'm with you. It's too expensive to conduct the studies to see if it works. Just claim that it does and hope nobody notices.

What's the saying?

"It's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission."

...or something like that.

I know someone who makes a lot of cash doing Environmental Impact Statements. He's not proud of it, but puts his family first. With his PHD and various skills, he reckons that he could justify a garbage dump in the botanical gardens (for the right coin).

 So a lot of natural therapies like honey, Aloe Vera, Tea tree oil and many other remedies used for centuries are deemed useless as there hasn't been a study done on them, commissioned by the them and slanted to reflect what they want?

I must have missed the natural remedies unlawful and misleading claims. If they did I'm sure they would treated the same.
