It certainly was a tough night at the office down south on Saturday night. We started well and Ash Grahams try was a supurb piece of athleticism and showed just what sort of quality he posesses. Unfortunately after that things just didn't go our way, and at this point in time we are not a good enough side to overcome those setbacks.
We always new the match would be played in atrocious conditions and the fact our boys scored the first try is testiment to the fact that we were well prepared.
After that however we didn't make the most of the chances we created- this coupled with the fact that the Olympic Park field is 2 metres smaller sideline to sideline than a normal field made points very hard to come by. Melbourne certainly showed just what sort of a quality side they are by recking up 60.
This weekend we're finally back home to take on the Tigers, who like us are looking to reestablish their premiership credentials. One things for sure, games between us and our Western Sydney rivals are always hotly contested with no backward steps taken.
Proud to be coach of your team,
Brian Smith
