A negative view...
Tear the whole thing down and start again, don't even bother trying to qualify for 2021 until your house is in order, RIP Scotland etc etc

Glass half-full...
Sometimes hitting rock bottom is what is needed to get a fresh start. Scotland has been clinging onto their international ranking for 10+ via the good fortune of having a passable heritage squad but really achieving nothing for the game back home. The cracks have been torn wide open here with a few injuries. Let it burn, re-focus on the values that make a strong Rugby League culture, and rebuild Scotland RL from the ground up. And IF they're lucky maybe they can have something worthwhile by the time qualifiers roll around.

Regardless, clearly it's time for the RLIF to step in with Scotland. After this disaster they can't be allowed to compete in the next WC unless they meet some pretty clear requirements.
Every single nation competing except for Scotland can point to a growing local competition and some hope of improvement. Scotland is on the same level as Japan domestically, are going backwards and now can't even paper over it with a few NRL players.

Pretty much this. Not exactly much lower they can go, looking at the option of any new clubs close enough to the border playing in English amatuer comps for better stability is a must.

Will the RLIF take responsibility for all this? Scotland shouldn't even be there. If they're allowed to play in other RLIF events in the next few years or allowed to be part of qualifying for 2021 the whole RLIF needs throwing out.

Pretty disappointing showing from them and Wales, at least Ireland look decent. Hope they can sort their shiet out, league cant afford to keep losing teams Internationally.

These players gave up on the team, weak, yes they are getting flogged, but go to training you bums ! Improve show some professionalism. Instead they get pissed and continue to suck. It's a holiday to these pricks. Scotland league is dying, at least wales has kids in the making.

Wales on the other hand, have a domestic competition and 2 clubs play in the English lower divisions. Also, the Welsh squad has some home grown players in their squad. Not the same thing can be said of Scotland.

Scotland have copped some shocking scorelines in the last 3 performances and that includes their loss to the NSW Country team.

Now this has happened, I cant imagine what the scoreline would be against Samoa.

The area near the border is mostly just farmland, there's not much point trying to develop the game there.

I would consider Edinburgh & Glasgow close enough to the border personally.

According to the UK Rugby League forums Brough is well known for liking a drink or two or three.
On another point no team should be allowed in the world cup unless they have at lease a proper local competition and/or teams playing in another countries comp.
Also make it a rule that at the next world cup every team must have at least 5 players from its own comp.
