red, Your making judgements on one match. As you point point out, this was heads FIRST match as halfback! Ever heard of a ypoung player having a blinder on debut and falling away? No? Well here at Balmain i've had plenty of experience. Do the names James Webster and Michael Gillet ring a bell? No? James was going to be the next alfie and gillet was the next fittler. Both not only had good debut's but also had great first seasons and both are now in reserve grade or retired. Don't judge on one match.

and anyway, we aren't talking about whether or not head is a talented player, I'm sure most here would agree with you that he is. But, that doesn't detract from the signing of prince. For all his faults, Prince was a good buy for this club. If it doesn't pan out I'd still aplaud the purchase because he can potentially change this club's fortunes around. Could head have done the same? No, as you say that was his first first grade start as half, he isn't experienced enough to turnh this club around yet.

hang on, your whole f**king argument was that prince was a poor buy because he is injury prone and can't perform at half, right? if you aren't claiming head is better then wtf are you claming? You don't rate prince and you rate head so obviously I'd conclude that you'd rate head a better player then prince, right? If that isn't the case, Why bring up head at all in your criticism of the tigers purchasing prince? I thought the whole point of the comparison was to show that the tigers had signed prince instead of signing better talent like head and because of that, the club had made a poor decision. So your not saying that, wtf are you saying? Nevermind, i even confused myself with that.

If you actually quoted the rest of my post "How they go from here is up to them."

That means that at the moment, Head is a better player (IMO). But the case isnt shut on who will develop into a better player.

simon says - How many Dragons game did you watch all year? round 1? Barrett, Gasnier and Ryles were out for most of the season.
Thompson missed a fair bit of footy through injury aswell...Bailey and Timmins had state of origin in the middle of the season and we gained Tingha halfway through the season.

Sam Obst hasnt even been given a chance at the tigers yet.
Judging by the Tigers season...it wouldn't of hurt to give Obst a go.

seriously? damn, I didn't realise that. You said he was our best half? Have you ever watched him play? he's the really really short one who can't tackle, can't kick and has a very average passing game.

Obst was given more opportunities then he deserved, the fact he was even in the 1st division team that struggled at half and 5/8 was giving him too much. there is no positives when it comes to sam obst. You need to re-evaluate your ability to pick a decent half if you rate obst, he looked way out of his league in 1st division.

IMO, buying Scott Prince was the worst investment the Tigers could of made. He is injury prone, unproven in the NRL and I dont rate him as much of a halfback. I have seen him play twice this season and he has done NOTHING.

You guys missed out on the smart buy of trying to get Dean Byrne or even better, Matthew Head, who outplayed Scott Prince and whoever the other halfback was last night.
Head has now re-signed at the Dragons.

I will be extremely suprised if:
a) Scott Prince plays more than half a season for the Tigers
b) Has any major impact on the Tigers.

Jus came across this, i know its late, but thought it was pretty amusing.
