I'm 50/50 on that point Copa. Why encourage more away fans rather than more home fans? Last season when we played the Roosters and Parramatta at home I am pretty sure that us Raiders fans were outnumbered. I know that the ACT doesn't have many performers that attract but it might be better to try and get something that Raiders fans feel attached to. I can't think of who that could be but you get the idea.

That's a fair point but I think it's been proven over the years that the only way the ACT general public will get themselves to Raiders game is if they are winning. I reckon admin could put Metallica on at half time and still only get 8000 if our form was poor.
So, seeing as the Jets are more popular than jeebus in Newy, I think it's a fairly savvy marketing strategy. That's if it works of course........

In my opinion, the saddest thing about the Raiders getting the Screaming Jets down here is, were it not for the fact that I go to all the Brumbies games as well, I would have never even known about it!

Where is the advertising for f**ks sake? Boggles the mind.

I have to agree, if it wasn't for peopl on this and another forum, I wouldn't have had the faintest that the screaming jets are playing.

I've been looking for advertising on this since I read it on here, and finally I found some! They made a reference to it this morning on 104.7.

Gotta say though, I think it is really sad that the drawcard on the ad, for a raiders home game, was to come see the legendary Joey Johns in action. I was a bit upset that for the first game of the year they were not promoting our own players.

Apparently Dave Gleeson said "How about those Green Army guys over this side" or something similar. He might have got the name wrong but we must have done something right and I thought we were poor 8)
