Sean Rudder

He wasn't good enough before he went to England and played terrible in a weakened competition. So why the hell would we contemplate getting him back? He was a terribly average footballer, even when he played in the backrow. We're having enough trouble keeping all our good players, without bringing in some more useless firewood.

Just to update this topic we had a game yesterday and Rudder started at 6. He eventually got subbed from the field and was booed by the majaority of the home fans as he left the field...

Poor Sean. I wasn't his greatest fan but at least he tries. You shouldn't have a go at someone for trying.

I agree. It isnt his fault that he is beeing played in the wrong position.

Are you sure he doesn't want to play 5/8? I thought he says that his proferred position is 5/8.

Rudder landed one bomb in his life-v sharks to get Kennedy over P .Cambell and into the G.F
To lazy and no creativity

I wouldn't class it has a bomb. I've seen that game alot of times, I'd class it more as a high chip kick.

I agree with your last point. I don't know why people say he always puts in. He has admitted himself that he's been lazy and has fallen into a comfort zone in the past. I wouldn't consider that always putting in. He didn't chase kicks well and as a 5/8, the knights used him more as a decoy runner, then a 5/8. Mostly because he was found wanting in his positional play.

Either play as a sub par back rower, or retire rudder. Because you aint no 5/8!

I'd like to see Rudder playing as a Centre. I'm sure he can do a much better job there.
The thing is, he's been nowhere near as disappointing as Craig Greenhill, yet Rudder is recieving more stick.
He has had some good games, his defence is pretty good and he tries as well. His main downfall is the fact us Cas fans were told he is a playmaker. He clearly isn't, he's a solid utility player who would be better as centre, or failing that loose forward.
In fact, I'm disgusted that Rudder was booed off the pitch while the Cas fans sang 'one Craig Greenhill' after he got into a tangle with a Warrington player. Greenhill has done absolutely nothing, this is the player who was Hull's player of the season and he's played state of origin as well.
Thats Cas fans for you, though.

P.S. Cas fan, is that you Tim?

He made his debut for the knights on the wing in 1998. He didn't go to bad. He has abit of speed for a bigish guy, so maybe he could play centre. You guys think you have it tough. When Johns got injured in 2001, rudder was moved to HALFBACK. He was our main kicker. To say the least, if we tackled the opposition in the own half, it was a rarety.

The thing that pissed me off about Rudder was that even for a guy his size he was a shirt grabber in defence.

I agree 100% aqua duck. He didn't tackle with his body, he'd tackle by grabing there arms or shirts and hopefully get them down. Mean while they have carried him for 5 meters or got an easy offload away.

I remember a game where he had the ball passed to him, it was no were near a hospital pass. But he totally tenced up and almost dropped the ball, dues to him worrying about getting hit hard by the defence.

He should have worn a skirt out on the field. That's probably why he's keen on playing 5/8. He's less likely to get hurt.

Apparently his wife and family only recently moved over here so he was on his own for some time and he wasn't really fitting in with the players.

Who was your source for telling you he was married? There is a good excuse for me asking that question

I understood his girlfriend was English and that was part of reason he asked for a release to go to England.

I put one laughing face to a coment about Danish moo cow saying that the newcastle rugby league isn't far off the National rugby league. DMC goes off at me and you label me the instigator and that I've done a terrible thing.

You put 20 odd laughing faces up about something I said. Keep up the good work mod

It was his girlfriend who was brought over to help him settle in, or something like that.
This news came from a Supporters Club meeting with previous coach Graham Steadman.

I'm laughing at the fact you just can't help yourself when the oppo comes up to bag the bloke, your straight in there.
I will try to do my best when it comes to "Keeping up the good work" By the way you were the instigator and it had stuff all to do with laughing faces, or no laughing faces.

If you hadn't put in laughing faces, just like you had a go at me about doing it to DMC, then this wouldn't be an issue. One rule for some, one rule for another by the look of things.

I've done that once, I most likely wont do it again. Why don't you make up a whole thread on the knights forum about me, like you have done in the past.

Hmmmm, sounds like another situation where you have a go at someone for something, then do a very similar thing yourself.
