Best Player= Corey Parker. Week in week out was our best by far.
Worst Player= Copley. For every good thing he did, we had to sit through 2 clangers.
Most improved player= Josh Mcguire. Really stepped up in the second half of the season and showed his potential. I take it Petro and Benny will start 8 & 10 but the big show will keep them on there toes all year!!
Best game= The final against the drag queens. Every win against them is a special one but for dazza to slot the winning FG and see them walk off, season over. Makes it all the sweeter
Worst game= Round 14 against the raiders. Yeah we got away with a win but man did we clock off in that game. It was our first chance to put a team to the sword and we kooked it!
Memories= Pretty much watching Dazza go around for the last time. And being able to head out onto the field after the manly game. That was up there with the birth of my boy!!

If it isn't apart of your Souths agenda then why did you just act like I shat in your breakfast? It was barely an offhand comment.

I didn't say they dominated us from start to end, just physically and when I say that I refer to their defence. They rarely looked in trouble all night and the likes of Ross and Taylor just rolled through us in the middle.

I stay by my outplayed comment.
You should really have another look at that game, but in the meanwhile, let's agree to totally disagree then...

I forgot this as a point to remember:

Gus Gould stopped dying his hair. It was hilarious to see it go from brown, to grey, to silver, to snow-white. Each week I was perched on the edge of my seat waiting to see what colour would come next.

'Turn it up AuDragon'.

It'll be interesting to see if the refs alter the rules leading into next season. I don't know if it was just me but the interpretation of the ruck this year lead to a slightly different brand of footy which I wasn't a fan of. Personally, I hope they revert the ruck interpretations back to 2009.

Let's just say that my definition of outplayed is very different from yours. Spending 3/4 of the game in the opposition's half of the field isn't my definition of being outplayed... :sarcasm:

For me, outplaying is what the Broncos did to the Warriors in the SF. Okay Rabs? :p

I'd say so.

Besides, we didn't outplay the Warriors, we DOMINATED *Rabs voice* them.

What were your thoughts on the Round 1 game? Personally, I thought we were outplayed that night too.

If your idea of being outplayed is losing a game, then yes. Not in my opinion.
Despite the Cows being the better team, we could've won that game still.

With 50uff$, despite that flukey start by them, we dominated field position and bombed a few tries, so more than anything, we defeated ourselves.
50uff$ had the merit to hang in there and defend as if their lives depended on it.

In Penrith, we could only aspire to stay within 20 pts of the Panthers, and were thoroughly outplayed...

It's not just losing, just being the worst team on the night. Teams can still win even though they were 'outplayed'. Which you probably think Souths did, but personally I thought they stepped up and deserved the win.

You've made a fair point and it's all water under the bridge now.

Back to the action, did you think Griffin's decision to rest our rep. players paid off?

Thaiday yes, due to his Osteitis Pubis, as well as Hodges due to his return from a serious injury and hammy issues, but not the rest.

I think it may have cost us a top 2 spot tbh, or even a minor premiership, as we probably would've defeated the Storm.

It's all academic, but chances are we would've been in the GF now... :?

On the flipside would have Lockyer, Thaiday, Hodges and Hannant been fit enough to lead us on our 8 week winning streak? It's probably the fittest we've been leading into the finals in quite some time and we didn't need an ass whoopin' to inspire us.

I think it was a bloody good decision to rest our stars after origin. Lockyer, Thaiday and Hodges were always going to be keys to our premiership push so why make them play 2 games in 48 hours??

Best Player?
Hoffman -love this kid when he wasnt injured
Reed also

Worst Player?
Dale Costly vs Scott Blanderson

Most Improved Player?
Macca vs Mcguire

Best Game?
Course: St George semi!
Others: -1st half vs cronulla (to restart our winning steak)
-vs parramatta -being at that game with the am radio and my best mate up from briz and laughing in the face of cocky parrshatta fans as Gillette busts thru to win!
-Both Games vs warriors were awesome

Worst Game?
-1st Canberra game. Thought we were in for a long boring season with that snooze fest
-Penrith loss
-vs Manly semis. Such a "if only" kind of game

Any other memories?
"Now for Lockyer, hes got it, I think hes GOT IT!
Game 1 and 3 of SOO

Memorable season boys. proud to be a bronco alongside you guys...

Lockyer recorded a career high 26 try assists for the season.

Do you guys think he retired at the right time?

I would have preferred him to retire from rep football only and to go around with the Broncs for a couple more seasons.

I was really hoping he would go around for 2012 and focus on the Broncos, but he is a guy of high integrity so I can see why he would want to go out and prove he can still play at the highest levels.

Personally it would have been great for him to go around 1 more year as we would surely have had a pretty good chance of winning it.

But its good that he gets to go out still being one of the premier 5/8 in the game.

You always run the risk of playing 1 too many seasons.

I agree beads.

Despite his career high achievement, I thought there were signs of slowing down in a couple of games. To see him bow out as one of the best players in the game was great and hopefully he takes the Four Nations back home with him.

He could have went on for another season and performed well but I don't think he had a reason to.

Would have been good to see even one season out of him without having to back up from the intensity of rep football.....especially SOO. I know Griff looked after him this year in that respect, still

Petro back.......Lockyer without rep footy........combinations starting to evolve amongst the new/younger guys

We would have gone real close to taking the premiership

excepting for injury of course.

I got no probs with Locky bowing out the way he as though........he's a champion

Got nothing left to prove.
