Sione must be doing something wrong in the pre-season. Based on how he played last year I'd have him in the top team for sure.

The whole Sione playing might be overblown a bit. It is probably just a simple matter of minutes.

Remember we have the bye in round 1 so the plan is probably to have our starters play longer minutes than they normally would in a trial. If May Pole and Twal are scheduled to take up most of the minutes in the main trial it might just be a chance to give him an extended spell in the middle.

I just read that Ethan Roberts is out injured for the all stars game. I hope it's nothing serious.

I hope you are right but personally I doubt it. I think I read somewhere recently he was playing in the second team in training.

It's cool that he is playing in the middle but he has just signed a contract (we think) and he appears to have dropped down the pecking order.

A couple of other interesting points from my perspective:-

1. Makasini playing at centre - let's see how he goes.
2. The Laulilii boys may show us something
3. Madden and Javon Andrews in the halves
4. Attard on the bench and Mason at fullback.

I'll watch it but I assume all of those players are at long odds to be starting for us in round 2.

First trial is always is always a possible probable scenario. Second trial will be the main one.
I think I heard it on some pod that we maybe having a third trial in lieu of the bye. (Hearsay.)

That is from last year. The story was that he had been upgraded for another 4 years.

It's his new extension that we're hangin for Fordy. I presumed it was a cooling off period that's delayed the official announcement but that surely has pased by now.

The story which is not official is that it's a 3 year contract for 1.1 million. It works out less than 400k per season. I think that is more than fair.

Bula is also mentioned but he'll get a lot more than 400k.

I hope we hear some official signing announcements soon though.

It's a trial but there was plenty to like. I like Charlie Murray. I can't see him being a first grader but he goes hard and has a good offload.
