Anyone else wondering where Latu fits back into the team with all this depth we seem to have now?

I think longer term he will be best placed as a running half.

On Bulla, with everyone else seeming to gel the last hit-outs, Id be looking to release him. In a perfect world, Attard would have a good 6 or 8 week crack at 1 while we still have Bulla. I reckon JBs at or close to his ceiling and is tradesman rather than a star. More than 50 games for him and I just don't see it. Personally I reckon we should spend his $ on another back rower.

I thought he was puss last night but we need to keep him. I think he has proven to be a quality first grader. We need him this season and maybe next season as well. Ideally a long term contract on fair dollars but that doesn't seem to be happening does it.

If we lose him we have to spend again on a fullback and that includes finding one.

Attard might be the guy but I can't even see us getting to the point where he could be that option for a season or two.

He was awesome. Makasini was unbelievable but Luai wasn't far behind. Our middle forwards were great as well.

I look at our team on paper and think it's actually pretty decent especially after two good trial games.

Then I remember once the season starts we will resort to playing the dumbest, low percentage and lazy football of any team in the comp.

That first half wasn’t that flash. I was having flashbacks .. I think we would have lost if the same teams were on in the second half.. there was something same old about it BUT with Luai at last playing selflessly. And maybe him and madden can strike up a storm. Madden looks unflappable. I think he’s been in enough cauldrons at Brisbane to handle it.Bole finally looks like self preservation isn’t his only thought.. with Terrell back and a couple of the young brigade ?? That left side, regardless how good can’t do it alone

Yeah, it was a sip of champagne Luai.

It simply doesnt touch the sides when he’s on.

If we start winning games again, I’m definitely going to need therapy to cope with this brave new world.

Great performance and especially for depth.

Agree on Bula, needs to show more ummph, seems a little soft, a bit like this last year, needsd to go to another level.

I think we need to settle down on Madden, he has played well but against two reserve grade teams, not saying he can't do it but AD for me.

Yes Api does seem a little slow, especially his service, hope this doesn't become a problem, there were signs last year. However, I though Hope looked quite good.

Madden is a cool head, plays the percentages, and is a vastly improved player on what he was here last time. Douehi has been going well, he’s a big body, and creates opportunities but he overplays his hand a bit, I’d go with Douehi off the end of last year but Madden is handy to have around. For years I’ve said Douehi’s best place is in the halves and he is showing his skills there. Douehi and Bula could be the basis for some really good set plays for us. Douehi’s size and ability to get his hands and upper body free of the tackler, with Bula trailing I see a heap of potential they are both big targets and could free up the other players on the right side especially. Blokes like Toa and Turuva could really benefit from those two running together on the right
