$200 per person is very very steep. I work in these sorts of functions and one place charges $135 per head and thats including a three course meal and a no cash bar (limited selection).

But hopefully our club would be aiming to cream a lot of cash/profit off their corporate supporters, knowing that the type of people who can afford that much per ticket probably have cash to burn.

It's a shame a season launch is not a bit more... egalitarian like the old days, but the club has to do what it has to do, money-wise. It's just the way the professional sport world works...

I wonder if the Tigers or Roosters would hold a function outside their traditional territory ?

One of the biggest events in the club's history hey? pffft.
What do you want them to say??? Come to our sh*thouse season launch which is overpriced with crap food for an even worse team which will do well to avoid the spoon ;-)

They should give tickets away as an apology to those SSH who have endured nearly 3 decades of zippo with 2011 likely to dish up the same.

Gee , we are such a positive band of true supporters at times. Looks like the club can't win, oh well, I will still be there as I have since 1979, don't be so fickle and just support the team.

The magicians are actually PO and SK...one can make a bag of groceries disappear and the other will be attempting to pull a nrl standard half back out of his arse!!!

This is what some of us have wanted for a while now so I hope that people get behind it and support it. The original invite had an RSVP date of the 22/12/10 so im assuming they didnt get a big enough response and have re-advertised it. I would go in a heartbeat only $$$ is extremely tight for me at the moment. :(

Why is $200 "expensive". I would have thought the club would charge the max amount possible whilst still filling the joint. If that happened to be $500 then so be it.

Having said that... enough of reliving the 80's already. We get it. You are "heroes'. You've told us often enough. :sarcasm:

For this type of a sit down black tie event $200 sounds very reasonable.
