Here is part II of the poll.

This will be even harder.

The winner of this poll will join John Chicka Ferguson as one of the two wingers in the LU Raiders greatest ever team.

People voting Mullins 'because he should be in the team' is rediculous IMO. He was a fullback not a winger.

A winger and fullback are very similar positions. In fact many fullbacks play wing on occasions.

By your logic Bowen and Slater should not have been in the QLD SoO team.

it may be dubious, but its not "ridiculous". Luke Davico on the wing would be ridiculous . but to be fair, Mullins did play a lot of footy on the wing, unlike a Gary Belcher or Clinton Schifcofske.

in response to prodigiousman on the locked wingers thread: you had a go at me for suggesting nominations for Phil Graham and Joel Monaghan, and went on to say that "Sean Hoppe was a try scoring freak for us over two seasons". Sean Hoppe 1992: 17 games, 6 tries. yeah, real mind-blowing stuff . get your facts straight before you get on the offensive like that next time.

In fact, the offical greatest ever Raiders team announced to celebrate 20 seasons also had Mullins on the wing.

Correct. Serious judges including Raiders great players and coaches picked the 20 year team and selected Belcher at fullback, Ferguson and Mullins on the wings. Mullins showed in his time with the Roosters that it is not so different on the wing as fullback for him, as well ....... Also, as I recall, Mullins was selected on the wing at times for rep teams.

Oh yeah I forgot about his stint on the wing at the Roosters.

Sorry Timbo it looks like you've lost this one :p

i do see Timbo's point though - ideally we'd judge him only by what he did on the wing, and only what he did for the Raiders (maybe count rep games too).

I voted for Noa, mainly because 73 tries over a 5 year period is nothing short of phenomenal. The guy was a freak. Man I used to love watching him tear down the sideline, what a gun. Top try in the 94 GF as well.

Mullins played plenty of wing including origin games for NSW, one of which he bagged a double in 1996.

By the way Prodigiousman... if you'd like to write your article on Chicka I will more than happily add it to the team listing :D

Once the team is complete I will unlock that thread and unleash it for everyone to comment on.

Will do thickos... but clearly I'm not qualified according to Kris_man. Did you watch Sean Hoppe? He was a gun mate, 1992 was his rookie year ya know on a team that had 70% of its stars injured long term. Then in 1993 he pumps out what was it 20 odd tries, so that's 30 in two seasons - hardly unworthy like you portrayed... and if he had've had 1994 on the flank instead of having to go to Norths (where he didn't stink up the joint) he might've had 50 in 3 years... and then we're talking Noa numbers... oh wait 5 x 15 = 70.... Noa 5 years 73 tries.... Hang on folks Hoppe's strikerate per year was almost as good!

The point I was making is don't discount a bloke cause you either a. didn't see him or b. don't remember what kind of player he was like and instead decided that one year of 6 in 17 (uncontextualised) cancels out his 22 or something in 1993. Hoppe deserves to be on this list - that was my point. Monaghan and Graham I don't believe are in his class (although i've explained Graham's future). That being said Corkery, Carey and Kinna were serviceable wingers at best! but they were first grade standard at the time that's for sure.

So yes my facts were researched.

I'll be voting Noa in - because simply he deserves it. Mullins off the bench sounds like an option I'd like to have as a coach any day of the week.

I disagree with this also. IMO Mullins is one of the best 17 players to even put on a green jersey. I voted for him as fullback, but he was pipped. That doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be in the team. If he was one of the best, then he should be there.

It won't let me vote for some reason but I definately want Noa. He was a natural Tryscorer and was fantastic in his time here.

I am with you Prod. Hoppe was a very decent player and a consistant tryscorer. He wasn't overly quick or flash in the way he did things but he certainly knew where the line was. I guess it would have been hard to be a bad winger in the sides from the early 90's though.
