Not really fussed with this as Slater clearly had a better season in '11 then Brett, no point getting upset about others opinions :)

Ugh, what a shock - the thread has descended into a trollfest.

Slater is the best FB i have ever seen. And given the way our athletes of today are better than ever, i find it hard to believe that anyone has ever played the position at a higher level.

The play that sums Slater up the best was a few weeks ago. He made a try saving tackle and ran 40 metres straight from marker to be in position for a kick into the corner which he cleared up. Remarkable play from a once in a lifetime player.

No current fullback comes close

A few of them can out-perform Slater once or twice a season, but he just does it
week after week, year after year.

What's the purpose of putting (nil) in brackets after 40-0?

Do Manly supporters not realise that 0 and nil are the same thing? Or did they just need that extra bit of clarification?

Irrespective, I'm glad we lost the 2008 premiership. It would have been taken away anyway.

How's the Manly fans once again making it all about them in a thread that has absolutely f**k all to do with their club. Look at me! Look at me! Don't forget us! What a pack of insecure little girls

So find me the correct statistics. They might be a game or 2 behind but they are pretty well spot on. Stewart's strike rate has always been superior to Slater's.

As for Slater having plenty of flaws. He's not great under the high ball, he's what you'd expect from a first grade fullback but not outstanding. His defense is questionable at times and his positional play, especially on 5th tackles could certainly improve. Anyone who wasn't wearing purple glasses coudl see that while Slater is a very good fullback, he's built his reputation on his kick returns and support play which are outstanding.

This proves once and for all you have no idea.

Mate thats your opinion, I'd be very careful voicing it. Innocent until proven guilty.

So unless you can prove that they are in fact insecure little girls, just keep it on the low down or you could be arrested by a moderator.

Not angry...actually quite bemused about where this thread is heading.

The Storm fans are quite obviously throwing lines in the water and catching Manly trolls left right and centre.

Its amusing reading for a quiet Friday.

Did you see him play? Lost in your nostalgia would be the white boots GF, he didn't go too flash in that game did he?

Anyone of Slater's flair and brilliance is going to have one or two errors in his game. I haven't seen many this year, mind you. He's a champion.

And don't ignore his defence, which is as good as any fullback I've ever seen.

You know its funny, when most people bring up defence for a fb there usually referring to tackling. When I talk about defence for a fb its all about your positioning and urgency, Billy leaves any other fb who's played the game for dead in this area :)lol: at the cutie reference).

Its what seperates him from the herd, not his attack.

Well, he is pretty good at throwing a boot out when he can't make it in time to actually stop the try.

And if his positional defense is so good, how the hell did Foran score under the posts 2 weeks ago from a kick that came from the right wing? Slater watched it bounce and he should have covered it.

Wow. I missed that quote about Billy's defense and positional play.

His positional play has taken fullback play to a whole new level. And his one-on-one try saving tackling is becoming the stuff of legend. The amount of times he's held someone up over the line is remarkable...

He's one of the best defensive players, regardless of position, that ive ever seen.

For the record Manly fans i think Stewart is the second best fullback in the game. But it's a clear second, which is no insult to Stewart.

lol this thread is proof enough. Any court in the land would find them guilty as charged after reading it.

I never once said he was guilty. I suggested I wouldn't want him as a role model.

Now fix your f**k up

Cmon mate, your embarissing yourself now

Typo, he was proven innocent. Suggesting you wouldn't want him as a role model when he was accused of something is wrong. Anyone can accuse anyone of anything. If you judge people for the rest of their lives because of frivolous claims made by unstable frauds then you are wrong.
