I'd like to see Mansour shifted to fullback, Whare and Wes as centre and Simmons and Tighe as wingers. Obviously Moylan deserves a shot but goin on the current selections this could change things up slightly

Gordon is the only one I'd have back in a heart beat. Sharp shooter with the boot, busts the line often and great support player. He'll play Origin again this year.

Like most other fans, Michael Gordon is the one that I miss most. Bringing him back alone would get rid of two big weaknesses... Whare playing at fullback, and Wes at centre.

The way I see it we are missing them more because of the blokes who are being picked, then what they offer the team... and honestly I think we have better blokes available then those being picked. It's just a matter of the coach making a decision to drop them. Bring in the likes of Matt Moylan, Travis Robinson, Matt Robinson etc. and suddenly the team looks a lot better across the park. At the moment we are carrying too many fringe first graders that should be looking at retirement.

You didn't mention the most important thing though.

We wouldn't/couldn't have signed some of these guys unless we let Lewis & Gordon go.

In particular I would have doubts over Sika Manu & Dean whare being at the club if we kept Lewis & Gordon. And possibly James Roberts who you didn't mention.

And more importantly if we didn't let Jennings go we wouldn't be in the market for a half.

Lewis is a world class backrower who is a regular for NSW and AUS.

Jenko has shown what he can do with a couple of class players around him feeding him the ball in the halves and Gordon well he was always good and just showing that at sharks.

Replacing guys like this with Manu,Wes and Whare is 3 steps backwards.

If we kept all those guys, imo we wouldn't have been able to sign Sika Manu, Lewis Brown, James Segeyaro, Dean Whare if we didn't let them go.

We might have been able to get 1 or 2 but definitely not Sika Manu or Lewis Brown who imo are essential to what we are doing going forward.

Jenko wouldn't have had that here because of his stupid contract which wouldn't allow us to go get a halfback capable of giving him that service.

He had the option to restructure his contract...he didn't want to do it.

Don't really see how he should sacrifice his pay to make it easier for the club to manage its salary cap.

I don't begrudge him that I'm responding to your comment that he is playing well now because he has great halves.

My point is with us..he'd be the same overpaid and under utilised talent because the halves were awful and he didn't have that impact backrower next to him like he has with Maloney and SBW at the Roosters making him look good.

The reason for that is because his contract didn't allow that to happen.

So while he may be realising his potential at the Roosters under a reasonable contract he wouldn't have been able to do that here because of his stupid contract and the talent around him was minimised due to it. It's pretty simple....

The players that replaced them are much , much cheaper.

Allowing us flexibility in the player market to go after positions we need the most.



Jennings , Lewis & Gordon weren't going to win us a premiership. They got us middle of the table at best.

Freeing up the cap space & the egos was the smartest thing we've done in some time.

We had Lewis and jenko AFTER we signed them. Gordon's money went to Manu and Segeyaro better spent

Agreed. But Culture wise I think we are better off and we are in a better position cap wise.

I can live with a Humble/Coote halves. Them with speed out wide with creative big forwards can do a job.

What we need to do is re-sign Austin, Robinson etc or we have gone backwards
