This is going to piss off a lot of old school Souths fans ...George Piggns types. Wayne was Superleague's biggest cheerleader .. and a QLD zealot obviously. Russell Crowe, James Packer and Wayne Bennett .. the sellout is complete.

I didn’t like super league either, being a dragon we stayed solid
However, it brought far more professionalism to the game that we now reap
Other than the bunker amateurs
Rabbits have not sold out anything
Crowe has always been an avid supporter
Packer and Crowe are mates
Bennett was sick of the old boys club in the ARL pre super league,
That’s why he supported Super league
Just worry about the warriors ram raid
And how to create more interest over there versus that stupid game yawnion

Madge was just confirmed for you guys. He’s the coach to bring discipline and improve the culture of your club. Expect players to be let go, even club favs. But he will get the guys focused on the prize. Once you’ve got the prize though that style doesn’t work on guys who have a ring and pay bumps. But the consolation is you more than likely will get that premiership in the next 2-3 years.
Geeze Thing fish, I doubt they will get that high
Top 6 maybe
Madge has a boring streak, discipline yes......
But 2016-2017 was enough to show me he had lost the plot

Maybe not year 1, but 2-3 yrs, they’ll be contending. He’s turned the NZ side around in the matter of 2 test matches. Our side put up with the discipline because they where hungry for 21. Once they got it, the boys just didn’t react to that style anymore, the pressure was off. The structure style was boring but it was better than a team that had no style before that. Tigers are a little like that now. The only way is up for those guys. I may have over sold it a little though :joy:

Hey mate, you are right about hungry for 21, it was a great win.

Just on the kiwis, I really don’t think a coach can improve an international side in 2 games, they don’t really get coached, it’s mostly setting the right environment as he is only with them for a few weeks.

I may be wrong, however, the kiwis got the aussies at a good time, the rooster guys were recovering from a heap of post grand final drinks and a week of partying, same with the melbourne and Souths boys in the team.

Most, not all, but most of the kiwis had stopped mad Monday many weeks ago.

Versus kiwis the kangaroo players had a small window to recover from their post final series boozing, but going back to playing footy from partying is damn hard, in the game vs Samoa you could see the difference with the intent and much harder style the aussies displayed. The party was over.

Regardless, you guys have Wayne, lucky buggers.

I agree. I see big things coming for the Tigers.

I wish Madge all the best.

Souths needed to make it down the other end of the field by themselves after that premiership didn’t make things any easier for Madge.
