Selwyn Cobbo may just be the final player we need to recruit in our backline for 2025/2028.

Sitting behind Reese Walsh at the Broncos and yet to receive an extension offer, Cobbo could be just the player we need in our backline. The Broncos are favorites to sign Ben Hunt and will be very tight when it comes to their salary cap if they do sign Hunt.

I suggest the following backline if Cobbo is recruited - Cobbo to fullback and Gatherson to five-eighth. Maybe our new recruit Lawson can push his way onto the right wing outside Holmes.

1. Cobbo
2. Allan
3. Holmes
4. Suli
5. Lawson
6. Cutterson
7. Fannagan or Illis

Does he play 6, 7 or middle?

Not sure he fits the culture Flanno is trying to build

Unless there is confirmation of the signing of a half back and middle prop, I'm not interested in anything else at the moment. Time to take a break from the Forum.
We have signed a cheap half. So any further signings should be a marquee player and if it is more than one player, we need to let one go.

We have lots of average props but need an alfa like Thompson.
We have the backup of Gutherson, so don't need Sloan as backup fullback. Could even throw in Ravalawa if they wanted.
For Tompson trade Lawrie with cash exchange.
For Cobbo, trade Sloan and a bunch of cash.

Cobbo seems like the best candidate for the Broncos to let go in order to fit Hunt.. but they mustnt need to if they have offered Hunt an 800k-600k 2yr offer already.. seems so dubious..

But Cobbo would have to want to go.. and I doubt he does... I dont think we would get him though, not if Roosters and co are sniffing around..

If Dogs have withdrawn their offer to Hunt, I think that means the Bronco’s are the last team standing???
Maybe Cobbo or someone will be shaken out.

That would be quite an outer backline we would have but who would have to move? So it can't happen.

When are we going to understand the mechanics?
"We want a player like x, so we just had to let one go"
WE ARE TRYING TO OFFLOAD TWO RIGHT NOW

Lawrie no one wants
Ravalawa has interest overseas but doesn't want to go.

It needs to be a mutual agreement. Until these two have reached the end of their contract there's nothing for us to do

Christ mate give it a rest. Players just don't up and leave their club because a fan wills it.

OMG we just signed Gutho to play fullback
Cobbo will not be coming to us
We need a prop desperately. Hopefully one gets squeezed out for the messiah to return to Brisbane and lose them another GF..
Gutherson would provide great value in our halves and Cobbo is a huge upgrade on what we have had over the past few years. The Ilias/Flannagan halves combo does not impress me very much.

Payne Haas would be nice too.

Even Pat Carrigan.

I like wish lists.
