Agree with what you are saying JD, but I have heard this all before about the Dragons being well placed to sign a high profile player, and then for reasons we will probably never know, the deal falls through at the last hurdle.
Really hoping if we do sign Cobbo it will be prior to the 30 June cut off.
As always though, will not believe any of the speculation until it is officially announced by the club.

Dragons set sights on Selwyn​

St George Illawarra are set to make moves to clear up salary cap space to sign Broncos star Selwyn Cobbo.

Tyrell Sloan will be allowed to leave early if he can secure a deal elsewhere after the fullback’s form has been below par since being switched to the wing this season following the arrival of Clint Gutherson.



The Dragons are hopeful of signing Cobbo before the June 30 deadline after he has fallen out of favour at Brisbane.

Cobbo has been playing in the Queensland Cup and has not lined up at NRL level since the Round 13 loss to Manly last month.

Don't rule out Cobbo staying at the Broncos.
Have heard all this before in the media about players who are supposedly leaving a club, then all of a sudden they resign.
The media like to think they are across all things rumours wise in the NRL, but there are times when they miss the mark completely.

Keep in mind also that this is not the first time we've had a crack at Cobbo- I remember- perhaps going back to the end of Mary's time- when Cobbo was about 19 and an emerging superstar full-back (and we were going nowhere with Dufty) we were interested but we were knocked back then as well.
