I would be thrilled if we could sign Cobbo before June 30. I can't imagine we are paying Rava, Allen, and Soan.

From what has been reported we can't agree on a price we are prepared to pay 600k he wants 650k - 700k per season, he is currently on 650k why would he move to Sydney for less money we are brain dead in recruitment honestly any hope of getting him is surely gone.

Because 600 is more than 300? Not saying he will sign with the Dragons but the offer is certainly more than the Broncos can offer according to reports. I personally don’t think we need another player with “untapped potential” and would prefer we sign or develop some tough kids ala the Raiders model.

That's why we are where we are.
We sign many poor players.
When one comes on the market for me they are too tight to pay.

It’s not the point we are low balling over 50K at the risk of other clubs now crunching their numbers now to make offers.

Clubs with better TPA’s will now likely join the race its dumb 650k is reasonable

Doesn't matter much...he's likely going to Cowboys before June 30 if broncs agree

If Madge is considered too strict for Selwyn, I think Flanno might just kill him lol. I'll hate losing him, he's one of my favourites when he's on...but he clearly needs to sort himself out so he can start enjoying playing football again. Whoever he goes to, I wish him all the best tbh.

We could at least offer him the 18 month deal by all reports it wasn’t tabled yet. Also offer Sloan to Brisbane if Cobbo went to Brisbane with an 18 month deal opposed to a 6 month deal from the Cowboys would they really stand in his way?

If Cowboys only offer 6 months Brisbane would just be like we will keep him theres nothing better on the table for him.

Had good 22 and 23 seasons. Shit ever since. One of the most overhyped players in the comp.
l agree but... if we don't sign him think of all the missed comments on here from the same people saying that it was just another case of inept signings that the club has made... on face value if you picked him up 'cheap' then go for it but why pay him overs on the rubbish he has put out recently.

Broncs pretty well stocked for wingers
Thinking the Dolphins maybe a more suitable landing a spot esp with Bostock now gone for season and the likliehood of max faegai as his likely replacement
plenty of ex dragons there

Of course not he is too young , we only sign players that are at the end of their playing careers or players that have been in trouble and have nowhere to go ..........

Selwyn has his choice really of options/prices, anywhere between 250-600k p.a... it's just a question of whether he is genuinely willing to move out of driving distance from Cherbourg... if not that only leaves Broncs/Fins/Tits, and taking a cut-price contract... leaving up to ~300k p.a. on the table.

Can be critical on our approach, but that's what we were talking to him about, are you actually at a point you could move away from Brisbane? We haven't heard from him on that topic.. only the media. If thats a no.. then he's just using us to up his value (wouldn't be the first).

Offer Cobbo a two year deal at 650k per season.

Move on, Sloan, Allen, and Rava. Their cap space combined is far more than such an offer to Cobbo.

nothing like a Hail Mary by Cobbo management

You would hav to guess he would love to stay in Brissie, Nth Qld or GC

Moving state probably least desirable

But it might make him...............cant get worse can it ?

You know that we'd only clear the amount that other clubs would be willing to pay for them right? And it doesn't need to be just equal to what we offer Cobbo, but Cobbo plus at least 2 minimum wage players.
