So the "2018" French Rugby Season - the one where the Grand Final is held in June 2018 - starts in August 2017.

Add some pre-season training and acclimatisation etc, and you'd expect someone playing in teh "2018" French season to be gone from at least end of June 2017... Semi's manager is maybe smarter than he appears, and trying to pull the wool over some dumb journos' eyes with his "2018 season" references?

They will seek a release from Semi's 2017 Eels contract, we will say yes (because we've said yes to other early releases) and he'll be gone. We bought Hoffman, so in the end - despite Semi's finishing skills - that's a good result for minimising drama and the squad moving forward in harmony.
