I don't see the point of banning someone for life for jumping ship.
There should be financial consequences if they can be had (like Dogs-SBW) but why would you life ban someone.
We don't life ban anyone for match fixing, cheating, taking drugs, violent play, drink driving, or belting their missus.
Walking out of a contract doesn't really rate.

The club should get whatever compensation they legally can, the NRL should make every effort to make its competition the most attractive competition in the world. And that means focusing more on international opportunities.

Pretty sure Tandy copped a life ban for match fixing

Not everyone can do a sonny bill, the way he takes care of his body means he can take the risk of signing year to year in different codes without worrying too much about serious or njiggling injuries.. Not sure how similarly committed semi is but he needs to keep in mind he is only 1 injury away from no club paying him anything. He's got it pretty good at parra.. They're letting him run his own race pretty much

If he goes the decision to let him play for Australia will look even more laughable than it did at the time.

One thing the sport needs to do is ask why these players are looking to defect. If its all about money then forget it. Ditto if its about playing on the 'big stage' (seemingly anywhere other than Australia?).

We need to find ways to make playing pro RL itself more attractive. We won't do that by giving rep jerseys to anyone who sticks their bottom lip out at the drop of a hat.

Regardless of if he comes back before this weekend's game, I DO think Weidler had some sort of reliable information about Radradra. As big of a dick as Weidler is, I doubt that even he would go off half-cocked on the basis of Semi simply leaving the country. I believe he knew something.

All it would have taken to blow Weidler out of the water would have been Semi making a phone call to the SMH or a simple skype message....issue would have been killed off then and there.

The fact that he was meant to report for training on Monday and is still not in the country certainly gives some credence to Weidler. If Joe Bloggs did not report for training on Monday, he'd be dropped. Semi won't be...chucking discipline at Parra right out the window.

Lol...I feel dirty defending Weidler there.
