Just a question on the Serbs,if an English team were to sign them would they count on their foreign quota because Serbia isn't in the EU?Would love a championship one club to pick them up,maybe Oldham perhaps.

correct me if im wrong but i think the RFL gave special dispensation to serbian players counting against the quota...cos as you say serbia isn't in the EU yet....but they are clearly a european RL playing nation..


a few years ago i tapped up our chairman about signing soni radovanovic but soni went to whitehaven instead...

I remember when Wests Tigers had a Russian RL player on their books for a few months.

Only a short stay but I'm sure he learnt a lot.

Kudos to Warrington for hosting these lads and advancing their skills and knowledge of our great game. ( Dare say they have had a pint at the nearby Rodney Hotel as well. Had one or two there myself during the Cup !)

Whilst that may be true 'spud, any Serbian player coming to the UK would need a work permit wouldn't they?

Seems he was named in a Russian squad to play Serbia a month ago...

Good to see he stuck with the game

I actually have a program from when the Russians played South Africa in the early 90's ( I visited SA soon after and met with SARL reps).

Wonder how many are still involved with the game in some capacity.
