Serious question for 7's organisers

Would the people who run League Unlimited and the Forum 7's be upset if the Dragon Army Forums ran a team in the next season of Forum 7's?

I'm not trying to stir up sh*t, but rather get some healthy rivalry going.

We'd set up a seperate section of DAF dedicated to the Forum 7's with links directly to here.

We have some great writers at DAF and I think we can give any team here a run for it's money... I'd just like to see if the 'powers that be' have any problems with the idea.

Cheers,

Buzz Boy

OK with me Buzz.

The long term aim of the F7s is to have it hosted here at LU while inviting in other teams from other forums. The more the merrier.

The rules even encourage this:

The Forum Sevens promotes 'cross-fan' participation and sportsmanship. That is, to encourage fans from opposing bases of opinion to join forces and leave their differences at the door. This has gone a long way to ensuring the success of the Forum Sevens at Leagueunlimited.

The F7s imploded and died at rleague in 2002 because some of the management there failed to recognise this. The F7s has only succeeded at League Unlimited because we took the view of encouraging participation from other forums while introducing sportsmanship.

If you want to join the F7s here, I suggest you run a team in the PVP tournament, entries for this close at the end of this week. Its a trial series and is open to all comers.

The link is here.

I would personally love to have a Dragons team on board (or whatever name you choose) but first up, we do have to be sure that you are able to get five players on deck each fortnight. The PVP is the perfect testing ground for this.

If there's any questions or any specific queries that you want to run past me, please don't hesitate to send me a PM.

Cheers.

Buzz, i myself run a team in a simular manner, mainly based over at our supporters forum, we won the minor premiership this year and lost gallantly to the pirates in the decider...

The more teams the better, as long as you demonstrate you can field a team on a reg basis, and can play in the spirit the comp is intended to be played in, where you're based doesn't really matter IMO.

Willow - so would the same apply if there was interest in bringing in a team from another supporters website. Obviously I'm thinking Silvertails.

Yep. Same as above.
As antonius said, as long as its done in the right spirit.

The teams all have some sort of crazy history - Newtown are mainly LWOSites, although that is slowly changing... Pirates are sort of an rleague team, the Raiders hail from elsewhere, the Dirty Reds are a by-product of the Knights forum here at LU, etc etc.

It's a great diverse game and a Dragons team would be great :thumb
