How come he never got what Webcke got ? Is it because he's black ?
Normally a question like this would be laughed at ... but when you are dealing with Qlders, expect the WORST

So come on all you Qlders ... tell us really why such a stalwart, was farked over big time ? They'd NEVER have the balls to do it to Shane, so why Petero ?

WTF.

Worst thread of the year.

Correct me I'm wrong, we initially offered him as much as Webcke and he knocked us back.

It was a break down in communications. The initial deal was actually probably enough to keep him. He was definately going to get 300000 per season he's only geting 370000 at the Panthers. When you factor in his relocation costs, the expenses of living in Sydney and the job he was offered after the Broncos the money was comparable. The whole thing is strange.

Webcke's last contract was for $340K/season. And that was the most he ever earned with the broncos.

See, he didn't have a player manager... that already saves him the ten or fifteen percent that the greedy bastards take away.

Not so sure about that excuse. The 3rd year option on the Broncos offer was in the club's favour. There is also 3rd year option on the Panthers contract but I don't who the option favours.

I would say that when a player is going to turn 33 before the 3rd year, the option will nearly always be in favour of the club. you would think so anyway.

Petero's living at Scarborough right? Nice beachfront property? (Admittedly, Redcliffe smells, but it's pretty none the less)

Houses out at St Marys are cheap. the nicer suburbs in Logan like Trailer Park are more expensive than houses out Penrith way...

If he was going to Cronulla or Manly or a club to the east, you'd be dead on the money, but Penrith living compares quite favourably to Brisbane living.

Yeah I heard that both Lote and Wendell didn't leave the club for big union dollars but to escape the Broncos racist culture. Karmichael, Hodges and Thaiday also had to swear allegiance to the white race to get a contract.

Is OVP Danny Weidler? I just ask as they're both f**ken dribblers.

What a stupid thread. The Broncos would have loved to have kept Petero and retire him the way Webcke retired but that's business these days. Hardly makes Brisbane racist. FFS.

I wonder how much the new " beach front" properties are going to cost out penrith way...
