Well I'm sure that was a lot more enjoyable for all of us than the previous week. I'm completely unsurprised TBH, if we are anywhere near the team I think we are then this had to be a comfortable win and they delivered that.

From the start we played intense and with disciplined and it proved way too much for Manly on this occasion. A special shout out to Sandon Smith for his try and overall performance. I thought it was absolutely ludicrous that his position in the side was questioned by the media after last week, thankfully Robbo was having none of it. He will only improve with time and him and Walker could be a dynamic pairing going forward.

Teddy was sensational as usual and proved once again he is the best FB in the game IMO. He should absolutely retain his spot in the Kangaroos team.

Overall a great night and how good was it seeing our stadium full, it was an epic atmosphere as well.

3 Teddy
2 Watson
1 S Smith

Special mention to May who bounced back very well from a poor showing last week and Joey Manu who may have finally woken up for 2024.

Melbourne away now and this is the very definition of a free hit. No one expects us to win without Walker and B Smith. it's hard to see us winning but if we start in the same manner as last week you never know, we certainly have the points in us IF we can limit errors and remained discipline.

I just hope they equip themselves a lot better than they did in week 1.

Much improved performance without a doubt. That said, the two early knock outs and a Manly side that probably struggled backing up after the Dogs game helped us so we'll need to improve again this week. The whole team played well, so it's not easy to give points but here are mine:

3 - Ted outstanding display
2 - Watson has to be in the running for our best player this year
1 - Manu best performance for some time.

We're not out of it this week, but to win they're going to have to reach a level they haven't done so far this season. Regardless, I expect a much better showing than the Panther game.

Nervous already.,

Without doubt the opening minute had an impact on the outcome of the game but that shouldn’t take away from our boys’s effort. The team was on it from the get-go and they responded from last week’s disappointment in the most emphatic way possible.

I watched the game from a high vantage point and had not noticed before what a great step Watson has and he was close to my MOM. His service at the ruck kept Manly on the backfoot most of the game. The two Joeys are peaking at the right time, in Manu’s case, I was wondering if he was saving himself for the finals all along. I must admit, I got a little emotional when Sandon scored, especially after the criticisms he copped during the week and I thought his halves partner had a great game as well. Teddy continues to amaze and loved his first try when we ran it on the fifth. All the forwards stood up but special mention to May who got stuck in and thank Christ Jared got through a game without getting binned although some claimed he raised his elbow which is bullshit. Another special mention to the bravery and dedication of one Victor Derrick Radley. I’m sure his appearance would’ve inspired the rest of the team to raise their game. And merkins reckon there’s no spirit at this club!

Tall order next week against and insanely well-coached club that’s had an extra week to refresh and prepare. All I’ll say is, we’re capable.

We simply have to stop Hughes making those breaks through the mid field if we are any chance. Add Munster in the mix - same.
