Very solid finals performance. Defence was great and half their points come off the back of iur errors. Cut them out and we win by 20.

I know tommy disagrees but I'm still not sure latrell gets cited. Looks no different to the tackle he copped against penrith when he was stretchered from the field without so much as a penalty.

Anyways, bring on the home prelim!

3 cronk - this was his time and he delivered. 600 plus kicking metres
2 teddy - big game player
1 JWH - our most important player.

I don't think Latrell should be cited but I think he will be.

The NRL react solely on media hype. They are puppets on a string.

So if the tackle continues to get talked up they'll charge him.

It was a great win and I should be more pumped but I'm eerily pessimistic.

I don't want to face Souffs potentially minus Napa, SST and Latrell. Every year the Premiers have their key players available so I won't pop the champagne after last night until we hear about Latrell and also SSTs injury.

3. Cronk. What a cool customer. Led us to victory where Pearce could not have.
2. Teddy. Set up two tries and his kick returns were immense.
1. JWH. Every run was huge. He's back to being the best prop in the game imo.

3 points: James Tedesco. Was our most dangerous player last night. 2 try assists, 21 runs for 227 metres. Kept us going forward even when the Sharks were surging in defence.

2 points: Cooper Cronk. Iceman did what was needed to win us the game. 1 tryt, 1 try assist and the all important field goal.

1 point: Jared Warea-Hargreaves. Made more metres with ball in hand than any forward on either team last night. 17 runs for 160 metres.

Do we beat the Sharks if Latrell doesn't play? I don't think so.

My point, being the melodramatic pessimist that I am, is that his judiciary hearing could be the difference between winning a Premiership and losing a Prelim.

Obviously he made that tackle which was a great play but I still think we win if he wasn't there. Teddy, Cronk and JWH were way more important to that result overall TBH.

If he doesn't get off we just need to get on with things. Of course I want him there as much as anyone else but we have talent and game breakers across the park and I think we are far better positioned to cover a loss in the backs than the forwards at the moment. Goal kicking may be an issue though....

Having said that, let's start a movement

3 - Tedesco. Tremendous work rate and dangerous every time he had the ball..
2 - JWH. Immense
1 - Cronk. Great control and the icing on the cake was the set leading up to the FG. Superb management.

Thought our bench was great and Lattrell made some massive defensive plays (3 overall by my count).

Thankfully, that fragile little petal Dugan couldn’t catch a ball with the line open in front of him nor could that pensioner Luke Lewis. Feki bombed one too from memory. Should have been a different result but all in all extremely happy with the way they managed the game.

I think the quality of our performance is being dismissed by a lot of people (not necessarily a bad thing). I thought we were very good for the majority of that game against a battle hardened sharks outfit who never let their foot off the throttle. The narrative seems to be we were outplayed and/or lucky to win but I completely disagree. Looking at the stats we won every single one of the below areas.

Possession
Run metres
Post Contact Metres
Line Breaks
Tackle Breaks
Kicking Metres
Missed Tackles
Tackling Efficiency
Discipline
Errors

As for the 'bombed' tries, I think only one was truly bombed, that being the Feki one. Lewis didn't bomb his, Latrell just made an amazing play on defence and Dugan looked well covered to me. Perhaps they score off the next tackle but who knows.

We just showed polish with our opportunities and they didn't due to our defensive pressure and that is what finals can come down to.

I know one thing for sure, we don't get within 12 of winning that game this time last year. Latrell will be a massive lost next week if he doesn't get off but I am fully confident that if we are to be beaten in the prelim, our opposition will have to be at the top of their game.

I am normally pessimistic/realist about the chooks but they look primed to me.

You’re absolutely right, I was just taking the piss, but aside from what you’ve said a certain amount of luck can go a long way. On another day those chances are converted.

Sharks fans I know were blowing up about the refs, none of them conceding they had more than fair share of chances to win the game.

Yeah agreed

I just hope the team is (for once) paying attention to the commentary around last week because they are being disrespected IMO.

For some reason the storyline out of our game is that we were lucky to win and will be disposed off next week. Souths and Melbourne are getting pencilled in for the GF because their game was tight but no one is mentioning the horrible defence in the game.

Souths lost to a Melbourne side that had some players missing yet everyone talks them up.
They'll be going up against a busted up Saints and will again be talked up against us especially as we can't (apparently) win without Latrell. Hopefully we'll ambush them.
