SHARKS EMAIL PROTEST

I have sent the following email to the Sharks web site:

I am writing this email in protest, I went to Homebush on Saturday expecting to see a very different Cronulla side but what I saw was absolutely crap.
After witnessing that display of football I promised myself that I won't be attending anymore games until the team plays with a bit of pride and passion.
We the Fans deserved better.

You just can't please some people.

Yes, the guys performance was pretty woeful last night, but fair go, its the first game of the season, under a new coach.

If, by chance, we're still playing the way we did last night in a month to six weeks go ahead and send your whinging letters or emails, but give the guys a chance!!

IMO a true supporter would stand strong, keep supporting them, keep their head up and NOT CREATE A NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT!

That's right fin

I got the whinge out of my system last night after about 12 hours on the turps but I'm trying to think positive now

Constructive criticism is one thing but running an email campaign because we had the dropsys in round 1 is another

And I for one, will stick by the team no matter what, just like I always have

Are you saying Shireshark that because I'm complaining it makes me less of a Sharks supporter?????

really what does it matter? That e-mail won't get to the players!

Believe me, I am one of the most negative supporter you will find, but I think it's early yet. The side showed some glimpses of improvement in attack but they just couldn't hold the ball. AHEM LOMU! And i think Bird isn't really a 5/8, but he did play well, but not as a 5/8. Michael Sullivan needs to start at hooker. Kimmorley''s kicking game was a bit down, but most of his kicks were just unlucky and just edging over the dead ball line.

Defence is still a major problem! There are far too many turnstiles out on the field but I'm glad to see Greg Bird improve his defence from last season. It looks as though the sharks were playing a reverse umbrella defence, they are not moving up on the fringes of the field. If they reverse it, it would put greater amount of pressure on the other teams backs.

Yes goalkicking still needed.

No
I'm not into that "you're not a real fan" nonsense
If anything, complaining shows passion and of course that is to be admired

But as I've said, this team has only played one game together
After a loss they need our support more than ever
So stick with them for at least a bit longer than just round 1!!!

I thought our defence was the best I have seen for a long while, drop ball and sense of Direction let us down....

So I decided to send one of support.

Dear Sharks players,

It is only round 1 fellas, the cobbwebs will slowly break free and your combinations will continue to get better. Our defence was good. I will be cheering for you guys next week and all year, keep your heads up, as you know it is a long season.

A year ago I would have considered firing off emails too, but I realise patience is the key in all of this. :)

I'm not going to crucify the team for dropping plenty of balls in early March. It happens a lot early in the year, partly through rustyness, but mostly because the footballs we use become incredably slippery when there is high humidity. If we are still playing like that in 5 weeks, then we've got problems, but I'm not too concerned yet. I'll be going next week and I am certainly not ready to give up.

I dont think much of supporters that say they wont be going to matches until we start winning. Makes me sick that kind of post.

Your email doesn't make you less of a supporter but not going to games until we improve certainly does. You have to support them through thick and thin buddy. I think that was the worst game I have ever seen and if we play like that next week we'll get done by 50 but I'll still be going. Your email is fair enough, express yourself however you want but don't threaten to stop supporting them, then tell us you aren't less of a supporter, that simply makes no sense.

Great post guys with different points of view. The email sent was sent because I'm a passionate supporter, In hindsight maybe I was wrong in stating I would not be attending any games.
I love the Sharks, all I want is for the Sharks to achieve greatness.
