26 February 2004

Year entered premiership: 1967.

Home ground: Toyota Park.

Premierships: Nil.

Finishes over the past three years: 2003 - 12th; 2002 - 4th; 2001 - 4th.

Coach: Stuart Raper.

Captain: Brett Kimmorley.

Gains: Andrew Lomu (Roosters), Jason Williams, Nigel Vagana (Bulldogs), Ryan McGoldrick (NSW Waratahs), Michael Russo (Melbourne), Nathan Merritt (Souths), Hassan Saleh (Dragons).

Losses: Nick Youngquest (Dragons), Jye Mullane (Manly).

Money Man: Brett Kimmorley - the linchpin of the Sharks. His short kicking game and deft passing causes havoc for defences.

One to watch: Keith Galloway - this red-headed second-rower got a taste of first grade as a 17-year-old last year. It's his first pre-season with the senior squad and reports are he'll make a big impact in 2004.

Coach's quote: "This has been my dream job since I was a ball boy for Cronulla back in 1976. I'm just looking forward to the season starting."
Premiership odds: Centrebet $21, SportsTab $31.

What is the current ground record? I do believe it was a Manly game I attended. You couldn't scratch yourself!

Yeah I'll never forget that ANZAC Day game.

Great win and an unreal atmosphere - esp. seeing the drunks rub it into the Stains supporters!
