Sharks Fans Forum

For those that aren't aware, in 2007, when Ricky Stuart became coach of the Cronulla Sharks, an initiative that he introduced was a Fans Forum. It is generally held in the old 'Blue Fin' restaurant. The general make-up of the forum is that the First Grade Coach, the First Grade Captain and the Club CEO would sit out the front of a group of season seat holders and corporate sponsors. The compere is usually Glen Wheeler. For two hours, this group of people would have an opportunity to ask the coach, captain and CEO questions about any facet of the football club. In 2009, the structure of this fans forum became more rigid. Look, to cut to the chase, I rang the club a short while ago and was informed that there will not be a fans forum this year. When I asked why there wasn't going to be one, I was told "It's just not'. I expressed my disappointment at this. With a new first grade coach starting next year, the performance of the team on the field this year, rumours about player signings and players being released, a fans forum would have given an opportunity to cut through the media talk and find out what is going on at the Sharks. Has anyone else attended one these forums and if you have, did you find any benefit out of attending them?

I snuck in once with the sole aim to kill Glenn Wheeler.

He is such a gormless zubrick.

Hooper, I think it's part of the Club's re connect policy.

You know the "Star Wars" image of Damien Irvine that would come onto your screen when you looked at the Clubs website spruiking that the Club wanted to re connect with the fans.

Oh sorry I'm wrong.

That was the re connect with the fans wallet speech.....

Or maybe the coach doesn't want to do them anymore.

Especially after a 10 from 40 winning record.

Yes I think even Ricky doesn't believe his own bullshyte anymore.

Last year the losses were because of this and because of that and he conned a few supporters.

This year no excuses although he did try with the refs at one stage. But hey in the end he knew he had nothing so he gave up and resigned.

The shyte is in the toilet bowl waiting to be flushed. Hope it happens soon because the stench is really spreading...

Yeah we should have been a real premiership threat last year. Despite our season ending injuries we still could have matched $5.9million dollar storm team in my opinion.
Luckily there are real smart ex footballers in the know on here, like Dragon Slayer, to set us straight.

anyone remember the call to arms requesting anyone willing to volunteer to assist with promotions round the shire? I submitted my details only to never hear from em. I enquired why once and was told to resubmit my particulars. Same result.

anyone receive the correspondence from the new ceo requesting ideas how to attract people back to the club? you were to fill it in and drop it into a barrel in the foyer and go in the running for a prize of a free feed. Trouble was she neglected to provide a section for your name and contact details on the form.

Hardly the sort of stuff to instil confidence.

Unfortunately this is all too common.

My advice to management is that if your serious about something follow it through. If your not fully into the idea don't do it. Simple as that. Too many half cocked things happening and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Coolumsharkie, given that I am a relative novice in this forum, and given that I feel that you are a little critical of my posting, perhaps you could educate me on what constitutes a relevant post and what constitutes an irrelevent post on this forum.

She's not a CEO, she's a GM Gunna.

Anyway, I got that flyer in the mail. Came with a stack of schooner glasses and an art union ticket.
