They will only just scrape in.
We would have been a big chance to finish around 6th or so if we had the direction and experience Kimmorley and Peach over the next few weeks against the top sides.

I reckon 5th-8th is a fair bet given the current.

A lot depends on how the Panthers go. If they continue to drop games and gradually sink down the ladder, we may be able to do well at their expense. The rest of the bottom half of the 8 are pretty even.

I agree with the Kimmorley / Peach proviso - If they're out for a long time, in particular during the finals, we'll struggle to go much past week one or two.

I reckon if we beat the Dogs this week, that'll go a long way to convincing me we can do it this year.

Can't tell ya now but as long as we keep winning games from here on, we'll be ok. I'm not worried about the semis so I'll just take our footy week by week and then see where we end up..

Absolutely! if we can beat the Dogs without BK and Peach then we are a genuine finals contender - but our chances are pretty slim.

Here's how it stands:
if a team wins 50% of their games (12/24) they must be in the top half of the table i.e 8th or better. With the 2 byes, 28 points will get us into the finals. We have 20 points so far. There are 8 more rounds. We need to win 3 of those plus the bye to get 28 points.

If we lose all of the next 4 games (Dogs, Dragons, Broncos, Roosters) then we can only get in by beating Eels, Storm and Cowboys. So we really need to win at least one of the next 4 - mainly for the psychological boost.

I target the Broncos (Home for us) as a good chance if Noddy and Peach are both playing, and the Dragons if they have an off day (which is quite possible).

If we win one or two games over the next month we'll finish about 8th. If not our for and against won't be good enough, even if we finish level on other sides on 26-28 points.

The quicker Peach and Noddy return the better our semi chances will be.

Tough run home. The only points we're sure of are the ones from the Round 24 bye. I think we'll just miss out.

8th just isn't good enough. We are in a position to benefit from our tough run home. If we are going to be in the 8 then these are the sides we are going to be playing come finals time. We should be beating these sides now if we are to have any hope in September. Noddy and Peach are needed on deck soon though.

We will need 29 points or more to guarantee to make the 8 due to our poor for & against. Likewise probably 31 + to be in top 6 & 33 + for top 4. A draw (although rare) is as good as a win for us.
The next 2 games are critical. Win none we miss the finals, win 1 we are a good chance, win both we will make it.
We have to keep winning until Noddy gets back - bloody hard ask though.
