A shocking press conference.
Getting used to around this time - 1 and half years in of failure - our coach, whoever they are, really doubles down and starts blaming other things to deflect from himself.

"Tries from kicks" why is that even a thing?
Newsflash, kicking is a great way to get a try and your son can't do anything but pot them up to the fullback. You picked Sloan and were not happy he dropped the ball??

The presser is one way the fans can try and get some hope and this was nothing but an excuse-athon that I can't even begin to agree with.
Ah yes Mary used to love a good tries from kicks excuse too.

Didn't you know tries from kicks are worth less than 4 points? 😂

Agreed very disappointing. Would have liked to have had Ryan C, Egan, Sua, Feagai, Allan, Tuipoluto, Holmes Hanlangalu available for selection tonight. I really want Nathan Lawson to succeed. I just don’t think he is that much chop.

Of those above Ryan C, Egan, Sua, Tuipoluto, Allan, Holmes would have been selected.

Sharkes at near full strength (Iro out).

My point is that the Sharkes will make the 8 but I don’t believe they are in top 4. We won’t make the 8 of course.

Oh the days when we felt excited about the games ahead when we had nothing to fear because we knew that we had great chances to win the games - can't recall when that was. Now we have the bye to look forward to for our 2 points isn't that exciting? Not!!

This club lacks class in all aspects. Just gone way backwards and I think that our management has to realise that we will need to reform somehow and change everything about us otherwise we will become extinct just like the Dragons have.

Last week flogged by 50 to a Dolphins team that's not doing much this year "No worries. We have the early turn around" says the coach.
24 unanswered points later and not a sniff of fortitude and we are left to sit with this for two weeks and he still has the nerve to praise Kyle in the presser.

We are stuck with another dud who can't sign decent players. What else really matters?
Has to be moved on ASAP

I see your point rasaint. Tonight could have been a lot different scoreboard wise had those players been available. In the case of Lawson, Flanno thought that he would be good for us going from the highlights reels but I cannot see him being a real threat to the opposition even allowing for his limited first grade experience. I hope I am wrong, but with somethings you can just tell and know it wont be a success story. Same goes for Sloan now. He has been very disappointing on the wing and he was heart attack material at fullback.

When you actually look at each player who we have in our 30 man squad, do you see real quality and class amongst most. I can only see a few and the rest are making up the numbers. For this club to be successful, the players should mostly be classy players who are brilliant in their allotted positions. Every player is accountable and should be able to attack and defend better than good. These are the sorts of players we desperately need.

I honestly don't think that Bellamy would have much success with the players we currently have - maybe win a few more games but still not great.

I know I am dreaming and in la la land but that is the reality. The Bulldogs have had to make massive changes and make cut throat decisions and good management of their cap (hahaha!) but that is the reality of being successful. If we don't try this, we will just meander along each year and stay down in the doldrums.

It has come to the desperate stage for the Dragons as far as I am concerned.

Sharks are dead set useless they won that game in the last 10 minutes back to back 6 agains and penalties hand given by the ref what a disgrace.
Well, the ref must have seen reason to give the 6 agains and penalties John. We just let ourselves down in the second half and the Sharks lifted. We needed to score first in the second half to build our momentum for the home stretch and to keep the Sharks from scoring but they did that and we ended up losing easily.

Not scoring any points in either the first 40 or second has happened to us a few times. Our attack has to improve. The coach needs to work out ways for us to score more.

Have a watch of the presser if you want to see a clown pretend to take accountability and then just make excuses:

- Ref Decisions - ie the short kick off (which he called a drop out) broke the plane. The game was gone and we wasted our challenge a few minutes before.

- Injuries - we're missing Matt Feagai, Corey Allan, Cristian Tuipulotou. He'd only be picking one of those three if they were all fit.

- Called out Sloan for dropping a kick that lead to a try, then refers to Lawson's one as well but doesn't go as far as naming Lawson. When quizzed further about Sloan says lacking confidence and needs to find some.

Such rubbish, who can continue to support this clown?
Absolutely shocking presser
In the presser last week when asked about the players performance with reference to halves
He said he has been around long enough to know you don’t single out players
Well a few weeks before that he singled out Ilias for the loss
Tonight he singled out Sloan so he has even forgotten what he said the previous week
Lucky decision makers are watching

I’m a big fan of Flanno and an even bigger fan of Sloans BUT I’ve had a gut full of 5 one outs and a pop gun kick, for me we are extremely boring to watch ( and I love my Dragons) and as for Sloan I’m sorry but he just hasn’t got it and Lawson as well…….. I don’t give a f**k how fragile Ramsey looks he is far and away the best winger we have ffs make it happen get him back to the NRL !!!!!!!!

Before Ilias was dropped, I could not understand where the Flanno jr hate came from. However, he never kicked. I was also a massive proponent of glover not playing FG because he couldn’t kick. I will say the height on Kyle’s kicks tonight was disgraceful. Glover couldn’t kick a stone through 2 pylons of the bridge but he would still do better than what KF served up

Should be working with Sione, CT, Allan and feagai as our wingers/backup wingers. Need to get sione more game time, I don't want to lose tamale just to keep sione in reserves. There's more of a future in him than sloan imo.

2024 suli was elite but his form has dropped this season, doesn't surprise me flano is trialling Tsougranis to potentially take his spot.

Luc is disappointing but tbf he belongs to the bench once egan is fit.

LKT is slowly getting better but looks too much like a junior amone clone to me.

K flano is not an organiser and made some poor decisions tonight. At one point on 5th tackle he went short and gave it to couchman for some reason when nothing was on. Also getting tackled on 5th a couple times instead of putting up a kick. I don't mind him when he is playing next to an actual organising half but when he is your main man you're going to struggle to win territory.

We have some bog average players. Our fitness looks below the standard required. I'd suggest our game plans are rubbish, except I'm not convinced we actually have game plans.

I don't blame the players - they're the best we can attract to the club. I only partly blame the coach because he can only work with what he has got. I mostly blame the dinosaurs and old boys on the Board and in management. Until the club is run by professional sports management people, the shemozzle will continue.

Hope Nick T retains his spot for the game v Parramatta.
Thought he played well.
Give Suli a break in the KOE Cup to work on his defence.
These young guns are our only hope of gaining any success in the future.
I've been rly cranky the last 2 weeks because giving up Toby out of the prop rotation is suicide imo.. esp when Nick or even Jacob could have come in and handled right 2nd row easily.. rly bad call imo.

As for moving forward, we could even leave NickT at right 2nd row, Sua left side, and keep Luciano off the bench, which I think overall just makes us far more competitive...

I cant imagine we are looking to continue the Nick @Ctr experiment unless desperate.. it looks good most of the time, but a good attacking team will pick him apart.. a fast ctr he wont be able to stop even though his effort to get there is first class.

Thats what some people don’t see! So many f**king injuries in KEY positions .

we’ve had 5 or 6 debutants - I’m not sure how a lot of people on here don’t see that debuting 5 players and having this many injuries think we’re going to be competing for the top 8. Though in saying that we’ve been in games in all but two. So honestly think with the above circumstances we’re doing ok.
yes I’m not happy we aren’t in the 8, but remember.: we were favourite for the spoon
