Sharks game

I’m tired of watching teams run harder and faster than us every week.
I’m tired of watching teams march downfield at will every week
I’m tired of watching my team play most of the game in its own half every week.
I’m tired of watching every clearing kick find the opposition fullback on the full every week.
I’m tired of watching our defence stand on its heels and let the opposition run wherever it wants each week.
I’m tired of just watching Groundhog Day every week.
Oh well, I guess I can spend a few weeks of 2026 feeling optimistic before the post Bennett sh%t show continues.
Me too.
And St Kilda got arseholed last night as well.
At least I can do something useful this weekend instead of wasting time watching those two lots of clown college graduates going through the motions.

I don’t have any disagreement with any comments thus far.

without ‘boring the forum’ I note again that you have to have the cattle.

Yes, coaches have an influence but not as much as put forward in m opinion. Cameron Ciraldo is a good coach. His win loss ratio is 50%. That will improve because Phil Gould is buying up players Burton, Kickau, Chricton etc. Now has the new best thing Galvin. Bellamy has the greatest win/loss at around 68 % from memory and has never left Melbourne with the big 3rd party dollars and signing and keeping top players.

IMO had Gareth Widdop and Tariq Simms not have been injured in our late finals run in 2018 we would have won the comp. Lost both when thrashing Broncos in semi. We had a very good team. The maligned Mary would have been a premiership coach.

My point, no matter who is coach you need top class players and we haven’t been able to recruit them for quite a while.

Thats what some people don’t see! So many f**king injuries in KEY positions .

we’ve had 5 or 6 debutants - I’m not sure how a lot of people on here don’t see that debuting 5 players and having this many injuries think we’re going to be competing for the top 8. Though in saying that we’ve been in games in all but two. So honestly think with the above circumstances we’re doing ok.
yes I’m not happy we aren’t in the 8, but remember.: we were favourite for the spoon

Comes back to recruitment.
Lack of depth which has been a problem for years.
Injuries other clubs have the cover .
We don't which is the clubs fault.

Faegai is one of the injured is hardly a first grader.
Would the others that are out would make a difference?
I think not.

And the way we are going with the draw we might get the spoon.
Lucky to win any of our games looking at the draw.

We have some bog average players. Our fitness looks below the standard required. I'd suggest our game plans are rubbish, except I'm not convinced we actually have game plans.

I don't blame the players - they're the best we can attract to the club. I only partly blame the coach because he can only work with what he has got. I mostly blame the dinosaurs and old boys on the Board and in management. Until the club is run by professional sports management people, the shemozzle will continue.
I agree, but as long as we avoid the wooden spoon nothing will change with the board or management. Additonal problem is, I reckon we've got a pretty old supporter base. As the years go by without success, things will get even harder.

I went back and looked at the 2018 team. On paper at least, that roster (including several Origin players) put together by that management and coach was better than the current roster put together by our current management and coach. It's pretty clear to me that back then, good players wanted to be at the Dragons, not so much now.

Try and get Hugo from roosters or sandon to pair up with Atkinson for next year. Once Walker is back, one of them will be dropped.
According to Robinson they may "loan" Hugo out to another club for a season, maybe two.
If the rumours are right, Smith is off to the Cows and Sexton to the Titans.
Hugo could be our best and only option in the short term until Reed is ready.

12 points up and then we lose, is that the 4th time this year? Anyway I thought the debutant had a good game and has a bright future. Along with the rest of the new breed the future should be good. This year is more about giving them the game time and experience. The ref last night was not up to u9’s standard, simply abominable and should be demoted and made to learn the rules.

Two clubs with significant issues in the management department. Sadly am also a fan.

Both disgraced themselves yesterday in their typical fashion.

Didn't see Ross Lyon's presser but sure it was as uninspiring as Shane's.

On with the 'rebuilds'....

I truly agree that this year can be looked at as a stepping stone. Plenty of youth has been blooded on first grade and even more to come. Some of these guys, including Nick T, look like they will be regulars. All that is wonderful but we seem to have zero pull in recruitment and also struggle to cut dead wood. We should have AFB on our team yesterday for example. Who's going these young blokes next year to make us formidable? Klemmer round 2? Cake round 10?

We are not a club with the right tenacity. When we can't get deals done we end up losing games like yesterday over and over. The youth will be wasted sadly.

I hate to be negative but we are f*cked. The whole thing is going to die. And when it does I'll never watch rugby league again. And, seeing as it's a grossly commercialised parody of the game I grew up with maybe it's for the best.

Just proved it at half time assistant Dean Young was up talking to the players in a huddle on the tv . That tells us everything that players are over the shit coaching staff Dragons have at the moment what is the assistant doing no body cares what he has to say. And the Dragons board think he would be next coach to take over no way in a life time . After Youngs speech at half time bored the whole teams motivation to play another 40 minutes.

Ive been following the Dragons for over 65 yrs now and up until about 5 yrs ago, loved watching them. But since then watching them has become harder and harder each year. Just watching the same shit performances year in year out and remembering how we used to play. Remembering how we used to be a force and feared, and now were a sad joke. No matter who coaches us, the same rubbish just prevails. This is the first year ever where ive turned games off- last week and tonight- because im just sick and tired of watching this rubbish. I have a Kogarah season pass but i dont look forward to going anymore, because now its a dread. Dreading how were going to play and just being an embarrassment. I dont tell anyone im a Dragons supporter anymore because it just generates laughs now. Its just the constant losses like Anzac Day which i witnessed now 2 yrs in a row. And i read all the same sort of stuff from guys on here feeling like i do.
I see what the Bulldogs and Cronulla have done and then i look at us and just see nothing. Ive backed Flanno up till now, but to me hes lost it too. His son couldn’t kick to save his life and everyone knows it except for him apparently. This loss tonight has really killed me because we had every reason to win and watching Sloan knock Gutho over just did it for me. This is amateur stuff and it now permeates our whole club. I might just stick to watching A grade- at least i enjoy it and they dont make amateur mistakes
I just go to games these days, so I can give our "players" some feedback when they get close enough to the tunnel or sideline.... wish some of the directors sat out with the punters.

Hearing some of the feedback from other supporters is worth the price of admission, which is lucky since the quality of football certainly is not!

I'd take Hugo... the last discarded 6 we got from the Roosters was pretty good!

well if it comes down to recruitment then blame the f**king board and out non existent recruitment manager .. We swang and missed!! Not for the lack of trying!

Lack of depth??
Mate we’ve lost 5 forwards who were in our 17 last year .
- R couchman
-BMM
- Eisenhuth
- Molo
-Sele (until last night )

On the wing 2 players who were in out 17 last year

- CT
- Feagai (who is f**king better than Sloan which is soooo bad to say)

Add that to Toby. Sua Egan being injured at times

How much f**king depth do you want
