ET, Gavin Miller, Tommy Bishop, Greg Pierce and Steve Rogers confirmed as the first five.

Article says there will be six further inductees will be announced on the night.

Criteria is as follows:
To be considered for the Hall of Fame, a player must have met four of the following five criteria:

  • Demonstrated exceptional performance on and off the field
  • Been an international Test representative. (Including Rugby League World Cup matches)
  • Played State of Origin
  • Played 100 first-grade games for the Cronulla Sharks or won a premiership with the Club.
  • Received a Dally M Medal, NRL-recognised award (e.g. Dally M positional award, Provan Summons Medal, Rothmans Medal, Ken Stephen Medal) or a Porter-Gallen Medal/Sharks Player of the Year award.

Who are we thinking?

Gal definitely. Wade Graham?

So no one before 1980 is eligible if they don't have 4 other criteria? Dumb criteria.

who from those eras deserves a shout?
I think we all would agree Ken Maddison,
Rothmans medal winner
Australian rep
NSW player which is equivalent to state of origin
He played 95 games I am hoping the club includes Amco and wills cup

I am hoping the club is looking at players of this vintage as for younger fans this would be of interest.

Other players like
Steve Kneen
Kurt Sorensen
How about Ron Turner

the Raiders wanted him when they were at their height. He rejected them.
I've heard why, probably not best to post it as ears have rumours, it was a long time ago and they haven't won a comp since.

I could probably have a stab at it.
I actually loved Dave Boughton and Andrew Neave back in the day.

The criteria doesn't allow for anyone between 1967 and 1980 to qualify. It's also counter logical. Tommy Bishop should be there and is, but he also shouldn't there because he doesn't meet 3 of the criteria! He only played 75 games, no SOO, no major awards.

The criteria are close minded and ageist.

I think Terry Hughes is pretty famous being the first man ever to win the Rothmans Medal.

Ron Turner how first Australian rep.

Prior to 1980 why don't they said if played for NSW or Qld it's no different to origin
