Sharks Hall of Fame

I like the 100 game milestone as a mark especially for moving forward. A lot of clubs (not sure about us) give life membership after 100. It makes 100 actually mean something. I take the point of players careers going longer but you need a line in the sand and if someone made such an impact under it you could fight it or use the other stuff to fit them in like Maloney. Kennedy has 109 games and unless gets bitten by a spider and turns into a super hero isn't going in so I do see the 100 games now not meaning as much as back then.

Players of note who didn't crack 100 - Moylan 96(Wouldn't make it), Lang 96 (Nope), Richardson 92 (Nope), Bird 82.

Players who just cracked 100 - Holmes 105 (I'd argue yes), Bailey 101 (No) and Pomeroy 151 (unquestionable).

Perhaps the different gates need different values. But Maloney (46 games) for example hits
  • Demonstrated exceptional performance on and off the field
  • Played State of Origin
  • Been an international Test representative. (Including Rugby League World Cup matches) - 2017
  • Played 100 first-grade games for the Cronulla Sharks or won a premiership with the Club
And made our team of 50 years. All of them should go straight in.

Ennis(51) played origin, execptional performance, won a comp but not sure if he won an award with us. For mine how important he was he needs to go in. Perhaps contributions to success could be looked at down the line. But again 1 comp in however many years how do you define that?

Ash is a mate. Nobody knows more about the club or loves us as much as him. He will take this stuff beyond serious and ensure the historical figures aren't left behind. He takes our history so serious the club created a role for him. From memory he had stuff the club hadn't seen for years sitting in his garage/storage. The collection is unreal go check out his insta - https://www.instagram.com/all_things_cronulla_sharks/

Mick Ennis was Dally M hooker of the year in 2015. he goes straight in for mine

we are now gonna have a hall of fame to go with "immortals" and the TOHC so its like a three teired thing already

realistically Paul Gallen ticks every box and is the only premiership captain and played the most games. he should be an immortal. the tohc guys should all be in the hall of fame as part of this announcement and then i would add luke leiws and wade graham and ron turner. is that too many? ohwell. who cares its all made up anyway

Would be a nice touch for Greeny to be inducted. Only played 95 according to Wikipedia but rules are made to be broken if that's the case.
Yes I saw that on wiki but had more faith in rugbyleagueproject. Shouldn't have. His history per season is different to the list.

He still qualifies though on the first 3 criteria and a Rothmans

I well and truly remember Vince Farrar, saw him at least 3 times, though I reckon he played about 10-15 games that year, including our first ever win against Manly at Brookvale.
Vince played 18 games in 1974 and I reckon I saw all of them. Used to get the supporters bus to every game.
